Which would you pick?

Hmm.. this thread could turn nasty. ;)

I've recently picked up a Nokia N95 8GB. I've played with an iPhone, but in the end decided to go with the Nokia N95.

Here's some reasons why:

- HSDPA for fast web-browsing
- Great camera with very good video recording
- Full YouTube support
- All of the cool 3rd party software that uses the N95's accelerometer.
- Ability to sync with Lotus Notes (boring, but I need it)
- Proper Bluetooth support
- Proper SMS/MMS support
- Free with a £35 pm contract (inc. unlimited data) on 3.

I spent the £269 I saved on a 16GB iPod touch so I got the best of both worlds. :)

N95 for all the above reasons + I think the iphone is too big and I dont like touch screen devices.

N95 too.. simply because it allows third party programs that are widely available - i think i'd get bored of the iphone easily

This is the main reason why I chose the N95 8GB over the iPhone, even though I followed the iPhone from the beginning on all the blogs. I love my macs, however a iPod Touch 16gb may replace my 1st gen Nano 4gb.

Possibly.

Got the N95 myself, had a shot of my mates N95 8GB and wow so jealous such an awsome phone. Those little differences to the N95 make it so much better.

N95 8Gb for me undoubtably, however it depends what you want your phone for.

Advantages of both over the other.

N95 8GB:
- 5Mp camera - one of the best cameraphones available, with excellent video recording capabilities
- 3g and HSDPA - the biggest flaw for me with the iphone is its lack of this. Wifi just isnt a feasible method of connecting for mobile internet on the move (as you either have to pay to use wifi or its on available.) Browsing using EDGE is just painful, I wouldnt bother.
- Native flash support - you can visit youtube.com, myspace.com etc basically a far fuller internet browsing experience.
- Virtually unlimited apps - a HUGE library of applications, you can do a ridiculous number of things with this phone. (The iphone have very few official apps, and the unofficial ones get deleted with a firmware upgrade - however this may be fixed when the SDk is released)
- VOIP cheap international calls and Skype etc.
- Better form factor - the iphone is too damn wide for me - the N95 8Gb is a far better form factor in my eyes, and with actual buttons. Its a far better 'phone' in that respect.
- Price - the iphone is very expensive combined with a contract, you can get the N95 8Gb for free on contract.

iphone
- Fantastic screen. Excellent for viewing videos/surfing the internet.
- Internet browser, combined witha large screen and touch, the internet browsing experience is excellent (the lack of 3g nullifies this for me unfortunately)
- GUI - sexy sexy, looks v good and works very slickly.

The N95 8Gb is a easier to use and a better 'phone' with a better camera and 3g however the iphone is a better media player and has a sexy GUI.

can I have a third option - neither, personally would go SE w960i or p1i (plus big memory card) but thats just me :)

Can you point me int he direction on how exactly to install this and what exactly what it does I may be dim but I can't find a simple answer to this. Is they any practical use for it??
Does it speed the whole phone up or is just needed for some 3 rd party apps?

really greatful if someone could answer me thanks in advance

Ummm.... it isn't an app for speeding up the device. It's for using the N95's Wiimote-style sensor to control the phone via movement.

There's various software that uses it. Search these forums and I'm sure you'll find some.
