What resolution are you gaming at ?


I had a X1800 XT @ 1280 x 1024

and now ive got an X1900 XT @ 1280 X 1024

Because my Viewsonic VX922 limits me to that :(


But i havn't actually noticed a difference in games, and thats with the settings maxed out.

I got the X1900 XT because it didn't cost me anything to upgrade it :D

don't understand why you are comparing the x1800xt to a 7800, the question i asked was wether or not it would be an improvement over 2 6800gt
as for my gaming res i am limited to 1280x1024

But at 1280x1024 6800gt sli should be sufficient, right? Or do you think it's not enough?
 
Yup everyone knows the 512mb 7800 GTX is faster than the x1800 XT 512mb, its the 256mb 7800 GTX that the x1800 XT beats. :)

x1800 XT will easily cope with 1280x1024, mine does everything, maxed as said. :)

You need to fully star out sweary's btw. :)
 
no i do not think it is not enough. I just feel like a change, and why not if i can get something else that is at least as good with no extre outlay

Loadsamoney: I know that, but in tomshardware chart there, x1800xt is faster than 7800gtx 256 sli in fear! Which of course isn't the case

I didn't name names, but thanks for highlighting to me and everyone else who I was referring to. Seriously though, have a look at it again. I'm not on my tod when thinking that there's some problems with the Tom's hardware guide comparison.

the X1900XT in that case,

2X 7600GT`s will perform about the same as your 2X 6800GT`s and wont out perform a single X1800XT never mind an X1900XT, plus its uneconomical as the X1900XT is 205 but 2X 7600GT`s would cost more £££ for less power.
 
sold! thanks for the advice, just have to wait until paypal transfer the money into my bank account before i can order one so hope theres some left then
