Hi guys.

I'm considering getting an xbox to satisfy my gaming needs until i get a new pc.

Ive seen some bargainous ones of fleabay for about £70. The ones at £70 even state -
"THIS CONSOLE HAS THE LATEST MOTHER BOARD IN IT THE JASPER MOTHER BOARD .THESE DO NOT SUFFER FROM THE DREADED 3 RROD OR THE E74 ERROR AS THEY RUN COOLER AND USE A 150w POWER PACK WITCH AGAIN USES LESS POWER."

I understand red ring of death is fairly common and unavoidable in some circumstances. So i ask you geniuses, which xbox version should i go for? which xbox version is the least likely to red ring?

Thanks :)

I wouldn't risk getting a 2nd hand console tbh. You never know what the other person has done to it.

Can't really go wrong with the Slim. Run a lot quiter and I don't think their's been many RROD's.

Thanks all! :)

what if pictures are shown, displaying that the inner seal on the xbox is in tact? (meaning it has been opened up)

All the old style 360 are a slight improvement over previous models as they use the same basic flawed design. It will take another year or so to know how much better the 360s/slim is.

This "THESE DO NOT SUFFER FROM THE DREADED 3 RROD OR THE E74 ERROR AS THEY RUN COOLER" is absolute lies.

The slim doesn't RROD because they took the red LED out :p
Seriously though, it is more reliable than the old model.

You can't judge the reliability yet it's too soon.

I would love people to stop calling it slim the thing is not smaller then the original 360 I have both here in front of me.

had my older black jasper? about 17 months and used a lot especially with forza and no errors so far :) it's a noisy little bugger though!

Best get onto MS then because it I'm pretty sure it says Slim on the box (don't have my box to hand so can't check).
Either way, get over it mate, the whole world calls it the slim model. It's just a name, surely there are better things to get worked up about.

Plus it is smaller than the normal model.

I think it's just called the Xbox 360, but like you said it's definitely smaller than the old models!

What do you recommend people to call it? Something that is quick to distinguish it from other models and easy to remember. Slim is easy to remember as it actually is smaller than the previous 360's and it immediately distinguishes it from the others by being called so. No need to have a hissy fit is there.

It should be classed as what it is 4gb or 250gb model and height wise it looks smaller but depth its not so front pics are misleading.

I'm not having a hissy over it it's just people make out its something it's not same goes for it's reliability.

The label on the back is 360 S, blame Sony for the slim tag if you like, but it does have a smaller more pinched in waist if you will and is 600g lighter. Even if the width at the very top and bottom is 4mm more.
