Most Z77 boards will reach 4.4 ghz overclock so any would do , if you want the extra features like sli then then Asrock extreme 4 and Gigabyte Z77X-D3H are great value for money.

As for the 2 boards you have chosen i like the Mpower board.

Yeah I've got a Sabretooth, quality board, slightly pricer so I would only recommend it if you're overclocking of if it's got a specific feature you need. Got my 3770K at 4.8GHz on it.

I like the look of it, although I hear the minifans for the armour are a bit fiddly to install and are noisy? I did have a budget, but that's gone out of the window, now I just want good reliable and easy to use stuff without paying for 'extras' that I wouldn't use.

The fans are easy enough to fit, but they are noisy at full tilt. I would only recommend installing them though if you're going to be pushing your CPU hard for extended periods.

I'm only going to do a modest OC, its the aesthetics I really like and the dust busting potential... If the temps are ok without them then I can leave them out, is one noisier than the other?

They're identical fans, I only tried one and at full speed it whines. The Sabretooth has some great software that lets you monitor the temperatures all over the board - I run mine passively and the only thing that gets really hot is the power regulators, but that's only if you really thrash your CPU. Normal use everything is healthy looking.

Yeah I went for it because of the aesthetics as well, really tidy looking board.

It comes with slot protectors for the PCI-E slots and RAM slots so you can cover them up as well.

After watching some utube videos and reading about a thousand reviews etc I have plumbed for the MSI MPower board.....it seems to be a good board, it is a biot a cheaper than the Sabretooth and looks almost as good. Also it comes with a RC car...woohoo.

Tried with and without the small fans - no problems except if run at standard setting they are a bit whiney:(

Having read a few reviews it is , allegedly, debatable wether they are needed or not partic. if you have good airflow through the case.

Being slightly paranoid decided I'd better keep 'em BUT finally found/set the profile needed in Asus Thermal Radar for cool and quiet. Silence is golden:)

I must have drawn the short straw I admit the board looks very nice all dressed up in its armour and it will clock my chip to 5.2.

But the problems I have had with it its going back for a full refund going back to a rog more features anyhow

board had to have a bios update before it would even boot my 3770k

only 2 dims out of 4 work the A2 and B2 any other combo and it wont boot just hangs on a mem problem and my memorys fine

lan keeps cutting out so had to switch to wireless

and the thing hums like a substation when overclocking

Asus maximus V formula for me only down side I had to order from else where come on OC sort your motherboard prices out
