So I'm sat here, having a drink as you do when it suddenly dawned on me.

Glenfiddich tastes like toliet water (neat). I am very much a single malt man and Glenmorangie being my usual tipple... however someone bought me fiddich as a present so I thought I'd try it.... is it me (possibly just tonight or this bottle) or does it taste... odd?

Yeah I normally drink Glenfidditch when nothing else is available. But I don't mind it that much.

Eurgh, Glenfiddich. I visited their distillery over Summer. Good fun and they're happy to ply you with as much whiskey and liquer as you can handle. Whilst I didn't particularly like it, I bought a bottle of both.

I also visited the Chivas Regal distillery as it was less than a minute walk from the end of the driveway ;) Much the same, loads of drink, but cost a fiver to get in. Worth it though!

Right... It is starting to taste okay now, this fiddich, but that is as I've had about 25cl....

You know what toilet water tastes like?

You've never accidentally tasted eau d'toilette? That is, of course, what toilet water actually is, not literally water from a toilet, but for use after one :)

Southern Comfort®. Its unique flavor of whiskey, fruit and spices is rooted in the spirit of New Orleans

The keyword there being flavour. It may have originally been made with bourbon, but these days is made with a fairly basic grain spirit.

Damn you all, I'm clean out of Whisky. Tonight I'm on the real ales not on special offer in Sainsburys.

There is an unopened bottle of Jonnie Walker black label which I have been specifically instructed to not open which is quite frustrating. I found that to be quite an agreeable tipple :(
