White box with red 'x' in the middle ??

Feel a bit silly asking this but I can't seem to findout why this happens?

I'm using IE7 and certain forum sigs and other pictures don't display I just see a tiny white box with a red 'x' in the middle??

What the h*ll is that?

And how do i stop it

That usually means the picture that would be there hasn't loaded for some reason, being that its not on the server or just hasn't downloaded

If it's really important, try r-clicking and select view image

Then use firefox instead

It's normally where an image link is broken, so IE knows there should be an image there but the link points to a non-existant source.

It could actually be a security/firewall setting. I used to get it on some forums, where i couldn't see the sig, but other people could. I can't for the life of me remember what the problem was, but it was only on certain forums!?! I have a feeling it was something to do with ZoneAlarm at the time, i remember it took me ages to sort out... Sorry i can't be a little more helpful.
