White hairs

So recently I've found a couple of white hairs on my head (boo hoo, I'm not even 22 ). Anyway, I've noticed that they are considerably thicker than normal hairs.

Any reason for this?

Not sure if it bares any relavents, but half of my beard is completely white (i'm 23 ). Just seems to be an odd quirk, allthought too many people belive me when i tell them its because i was struck by lightning.. :p

Oddly enough my beard grows ginger.

My Step-Dad started going grey in his 20's and was completely grey not long after that.

The question reamains: Why are white (actually colourless) hairs so damn thick? It's especially noticeable with eyebrows. These mutant hairs are at least twice as thick as the normal ones.

mutant hairs

Probably quite a good description, (pseudo intelligence on) They lack the dna markers for colour, so could allso be lacking in the markers for length/width etc, making them seem alien to your normal hair type(pseudo intelligence off)

Seems my beard hair is the same all over, just half of it is completely pigmentless (white not grey or greyish)

It's definitely not just me then. The hairs are clearly A LOT thicker than my normal hair, at least 3x so.

the random thicker hairs aren't as far as I'm aware you going gray as such, they're just as you say mutant hairs, the same as rogue inch long eyebrow hairs or car towing nostril hairs. I have a couple of gray hairs that I have always had, if I pull them out they grow back gray.

Eh? I thought white hair was purely hereditary? I've been under enormous stress for the past year or so, but it bears no relation apparently.

Not sure about that I started going "silver" at 16 but accelerated massively between 18 and 22 when I was under heavy stress.

Cherish it anyway most ladies love it:)
