White iphone

Just wondering why any one would pay to upgrade to 3gs if you have a 3g already?
The 3g speed has been shown to be no difference in tests that ive seen, and you get video, which you should have had anyway :-s And it looks exactly the same.
Im not trying to hate, im just wondering why so many people are droping there 3g for this new one?

Edit: Just throwing my bit in here, i think the white one looks horrendous. Reason being when viewed from the front its still a big black screen and the this white border, not like an ipod where all the front is white too, it looks mismatched.

I dont know what tests you've seen where there's no difference in speed. All the ones I've seen are quicker.:confused:


I've got a 3g and a 3gs and I can tell a difference.

The only Difference in speed, is how quick apple are keen to take your money of you for something which is not worth the money tbh.

Iphone 2G TO 3GS = Good Upgrade

Iphone 3G to 3GS = Pointless (If your educated enough to do certain things to it)
 
Yeah it's not much of an upgrade - and this is coming from someone who went from a 3G to a 3GS. The main reason for me doing it personally was to upgrade from 8GB to 32GB. There is definitely a very noticeable speed difference, but it's probably not really worth the cash.
 
I think it's definately worth it - it's much much quicker I don't have a clue what you guy's are on about - infact realising how quick the 3GS is just show's how slow the 3G is at doing EVERYTHING i'll show a video to prove it.

I am happy to wait how ever many seconds longer for the App to open.

I can put the money saving for a new iphone when it comes out.

it's not just about a few seconds longer on the app store. The phone is smoother ; the lagginess has gone. Sometimes there's a hell of a lot of speed difference. The phone has yet to crash now with a memory problem. Video only on jailbroke phones etc. I could afford it and IMO it's worth it for other gains too. if you're a gamer the improved graphics are better with faster framerate.

Obviously everyone has different opinions but my 3g is so laggy compared to this. If it was just a few seconds here-and-there I wouldve gone back to the old one and said 'yeah not worth it'.

Have you actually compared the phones alongside each other because I have two different phones here if you have and am a bit confused.

I got away without topping up in the Apple store because after I bought the phone my bank put a block on my card because they thought it was a fraudulent purchase. The Apple guy just let me go. Result! Saved me £10 :)

My 3G is never laggy. It appears that the 3G is faster for Javascript and app load times, but I certainly wouldn't call it "laggy".

As you say, it's more about what you use the phone for.. you aren't going to notice a speed up if you type notes all day, but you will notice a speed up if you're surfing media-rich websites or accessing Google maps.

I'm sure there is a lot of placebo effect in every purchase, but the direct comparisons I've seen are dubious. For example, you don't know if they're running a 3G thats been used for months vs. an out-the-box 3G with minimal usage.

I want one to test ;)

Why wait for anything in life, it's just came out you are having the biggest wait now, its not just apps opening, its like going from a old CPU type to a new one feels like a new phone I can't stand my 3G now.
 
White iPhone is great! I love mine to bits! Had my white 3G since September last year and it still looks new.

GET THE BLACK ONE! I want to be individual with my white one! :p
