This sounds like you have a "bright pixel" defect on your monitor. You can try and fix it by downloading a video or application which quickly changes colour, to try and kick it back into life.
If this doesn't work then you will want to consult the retailer and have a look what the manufacturer's policy is with stuck or bright pixels. Some manufacturers (like Dell's "Ultrasharp" product range) will give you a replacement if there is just one stuck or bright pixel, while others will require a certain number and/or placement of bright/stuck pixels before they will consider the display faulty and issue a refund.
Are you still within the 7 days since purchase? If you are the distance selling regulations should allow you to return it for a full refund (you pay for return delivery) as these laws are aimed to protect customers, so they can look at a product in the flesh and judge whether it is fit for purpose - just like they can on the high-street.
Unfortunately, LG's pixel policy is not very generous. According to that page, they require 7 or more bright sub-pixels before they give you a replacement.
I suggest you contact OCUK ASAP and see what they can do.
It can work, but i wouldn't do it until after you have exhausted all options with the retailer as they require the monitor to be in "as new" condition.
Ah, yea must be an always-on green sub-pixel instead of a bright pixel, unfortunately the same limit applies, ie. LG will not give you a replacement. Best to contact OCUK, did you buy it in the last 7 days?
