White Russians

you dont add 1 part milk...

the recipe above is fine, but you dont put 1 part cream and 1 part milk. u only put 1 part cream... or you can do half and half so 0.5 part of each...

You can do yours as you please. I used to do 2 parts cream, but it was too sickly after about a pints worth :) I tried just milk, but the compromise of mixing them both suits me just fine. And because of the lager vodka amount (most WR recipes have equal vodka and kahlua) really you're just reducing the kahlua proportion by having two parts cream or milk.

A girl mate of mine likes Black Russians (Tia Maria, Vodka and Coke) and I must admit they are very tasty. Never tried a White Russian though...

Interesting

I stumbled into a pub with a mate and asked for some milk and vodka.. little did I know there was a name behind it :p Tasted like carp though. Wasn't a real White Russian so that's probably why ;)

Puffy, posh ****.

ey????

thats the point. I DONT do as i please, its 2vodka,1 kahlua and 1 cream = proper IBA cocktail white russian, full stop.

if you like it like that its completely fine, but you should know how its done and make sure you type what the modification is...

Now personally i drink black russians when i feel like that, because the cream is a bit over the top (when drinking lots), and tbh the kahlua is too sweet aswell... :S

and that gets me on to

a black russian is 2parts vodka, 1 part coffee liqueur and thats it...

adding coke = tall black russian, if you really want to, so i can see the guy who made that drink to end up putting lemonade in a "white russian". like a giant mug

Fantastic drink, must make sure I get some Kahlua before Christmas.
I went to the work Christmas party last Friday, asked for a White Russian and was told they don't serve any milk/cream drinks :(.

The guy in my bar used just cream with no milk.

Well it was thick enough to be just cream anyway:D

In Canada and probably the states as well, white russian + coke = paralyzer. So good! It's called a paralyzer as you don't know you're drunk until you're well and truly wasted. They take a bit of practise to make because if done wrong, the coke will cause the milk to curdle. (If anyone tries to make one, ice is the key)

Try a chocolate one then as well. :p

I'd suggest getting Crème de Cacao for it.

Another one is creme de menthe .. turns the drink into mint choc chip icecream ;)

prefer black russians ... as had been said if white russians are all your drinking you will feel ill from the milk soon enough

You seem to have got your own opinion confused with fact. An IBA white Russian has different quantities:

WHITE RUSSIAN After dinner ( old fashioned glass)
5.0 cl Vodka
2.0 cl Coffee liqueur
3.0 cl Fresh cream
Pour coffee liqueur and vodka directly into old fashioned glass filled with ice. Float fresh cream on the top and stir in slowly..

No i got in a fight (entirely not my fault i might add) and the stupid **** decided the best way to show he was angry was to throw is glass across the room hitting an unfortunate fella in the back of the neck

Result, me being dragged out and being punched in the gut a few times by the bouncers while he got off :/
Look, I've already apologised for this.. but you ****** deserved it. :D:p

OT, White russians ROCK. I've had one made with COKE (pepsi) before.... wtf!!!!
