For a few weeks to a month i think it started happening. In games i notice more and more that aa isnt working on the whole screen and just the majority but some hasnt got aa on. Also i notice that for example in tdu that things like lamp posts or the posts with electric cables and antenas on my lotus esprint have white dots like speckles show up like flicker there and not there. Is this my card starting to fail or is this perhaps a software problem that i have somehow caused. It happens in two diff OS one is xp pro and one is vista ult 64bit. Diff drivers on each os.

I just want my quality back and really want help cos i hate these speckles of white on stuff in games and that aa doesnt fully work and forced NEVER works on any modern game ever which i really want to know why. I can only these days play with aa if the game has option for it even then like i said in first paragraph the aa isnt applied to everythying i.e cables or fencing. in grid or tdu etc. AA seems best in hl2 but that has and is the ONLY game that supports 6x aa ingame no other game brings up the option to use 6x aa. only 4x aa.
 
I would put a safe bet on your X1950Pro on it's way out. However, before replacing it, have you tried it in another machine to see if you get the same results as your main machine?
 


It is very hard to capture the white specs but i could capture some extreme jaggies which were very large when playing but dont look as big in the pic but were. and were very wavy.

1024x res 4x aa and hdr on with 16x af with hq mode on using 8.6 driver with ati tray tools.

Edit- got a good screengrab of a white spec and also poor aa in the scene.

Can't say I noticed anything white on the Telephone lines, however the car looks exactly the same as on my pc. Even 16QFSAA doesn't make it smoother between the panels of the cars.

At some angles, TDU always looked rubbish to me, on my 6800GS, and on my 8800GTS...

It sounds like the flicking of pixels between the gaps of polygons, and it's flickering because you can only see them at certain angles and being in motion going past it gives the appearance that it's flicking, but if you stopped still it shouldn't flicker.

Or that's what it sounds like to me least.
