who as a Gigabyte's i-RAM in there system ??

1st what do you use it for
2nd how much ram do you use
3rd i've read some reviews but would realy like to know what userers think ?

thanks paul

You use it as if it were a normal hard drive to install windows on. It'll give extremely quick boot times but will lose all the information on it if it loses power. AFAIK it has a battery to keep it going whilst the computer is off and as long as the pc is connected to the mains and the psu switch is on then it will keep all the information on it.

Yup you can get cheap 1GB sticks of PC2700/PC3200 non-ECC ram.

Examples:
OcUK Value 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 184pin DDR Memory Dual Channel Kit (MY-006-OK) £111.57 Including VAT at 17.5%

Crucial 1GB DDR PC2700 CAS 2.5 (CT12864Z335) (MY-025-CR) (£58.69 Including VAT at 17.5%)

So eitherway 4GB is going to £224-234 new then add the additional cost of the iRAM at £176 inc vat -> total of ~£410..

Best thing would be to go on the scavenge from members market for some cheap non-needed PC2700. Also there's lots of servers that are slowly being migrated towards DD400... so old servers = cheap components and memory!

Overall - is the outlay worth the restriction of 4GB?
