During the Iranian Embassy seige on the 30th april 1980 there was a John Wyne film showing that was interrupted with a news flash - what was the name of the john wayne film ?

It was the final frames of the Embassy snooker finals that were interupted on BBC2 so the SAS could have their historical TV moment.

I actually have no idea what the film was called so depending on what the majority go for then id be inclined to take that as the answer :)

I was watching The Professionals at the time. That was interupted, for a second i thought it was Bodie & Doyle entering the Embassy... :p

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I thought it was interesting and of relevance:

"The BBC interrupted coverage of the World Snooker Championships and Adie reported live and unscripted to one of the largest news audiences ever, whilst crouched behind a car door. At forty-five minutes, this became one of the longest "news flashes" (ITN call it an 'open-ender') in British television history."
