Who can see what is wrong with this?

Tesco have tricking stupid people down to a fine art. They have loads of tricks such as making bigger boxes of things more expensive per gram then then smaller ones.

Have you looked at the cartons for Innocent Smoothies?

Compared to everyone elses cartons they are thinner and the angle at the top is sharper so it takes up more height but is less volume.

Their large cartons are the same size as a large carton of fruit juice... from the front but turn them sideways and they're about 2/3 the depth, same messing about with the angle of the top of the carton as the smaller cartons.

Bit dubious since they seem to be trying to create the illusion of the larger volume cartons which everyone else uses as standard with their smaller volume cartons.

i used to have a somerfields local to me and very often they would have signs advertising a 1p reduction. ok so it's cheaper and technically not wrong.... but what was the point of having the labels made up??? :/

You'd be amazed at the amount of people that will make a thing of such a small amount, I work at a Co-op supermarket, Sometimes when there are little price changes (less than 10p) and the labels haven't been updated so the higher price is still up people check there receipts and then ask for a refund, I've even done a 1p refund before!

Also we charge for bags 2p for a standard supermarket carrier, the amount of people that make a thing about it is astounding.

I can see what is wrong.

You started a thread for your funny little picture, when you should have just popped its in the Random image thread.

But no discussion can take place in there now. Its become a PC+1 while posting a crappy image I found on google image search thread.

When I went to buy Red Dead Redemption for PS3 at game, £40 advertised, took it to the counter. The computer system thing had it down for something silly like £9, and they sold it to me for that then fixed it. Result!

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that other products are included in those promotions...

Except the Smarties cookies one - that's just dumb.

That's a nice big sturdy limb you're on there :)

Hit the nail on the head, it's the only reason these signs exist and I'm pretty sure that if you were to buy two of the cheaper products you would get charged the lower price for them.

With the above offers, at least the Tesco tills won't add on money to make the 2 for £4 actually appear on the receipt. Also, for those that aren't aware, if you get overcharged on your receipt, go complain at customer services and you get refunded double the difference. Especially useful if offers aren't applied at the till.

Side note, out the back we usually have a couple of boxes of stuff we can't sell anymore due to it being the day they run out, so they are reduced to dirt cheap prices for the staff to clear the stock, for instance 10p for a pack of blueberries when they are normally £1.50 each or two for £2.00
One person brought two of them to the till, scanned them through, came to 20p. But then the till applied the two for £2.00 discount of £1.00
So the till was saying I needed to pay her £0.80p to sell her the blueberries. A team leader was called and it was all sorted out, and the tills had sense beaten into them, though.
