I do?!?!!?

Story:

Rushing around last night admitedly trying to avoid him since I wasn't in a chatty mood. Go to put a wash load on see there's a pile of washing in there, I presume it's clean take it out put it neatly on the table. Shove mine in and stick it on a nice boil wash (needed to try and shrink the jujitsu outfit), five minutes later HM comes upstairs and is really condescending, I apologise since it was an honest mistake, he says "even though the tablets were in the draw, you didn't realise!!!".

Nope I never check the draw to be honest as I use the type of capsules that go in with wash. He walks off in a huff and I continue with my evening.

Go downstairs this morning to find my stuff unwashed on the table

I realise this is a bit of a rant, and that it was my mistake to begin with, but surely this is a tad childish. The guy's in his 40's ffs

Anyway that was my night last night.

So who else dislikes their housemates.

I live in a house of 8 people, we mostly get on but some people can be really slack, there isn't much pettiness though. If you said you made a genuine mistake to him then he really doesn't have an excuse, I manage to get my clothes clean even though we only have one machine!

I had 2 flatmates I didn't particularly like. One of them smoked like a chimney around the flat despite the rest of us telling him not to. And the other guy stalked me around the flat, whenever I would open my bedroom door, his door would open across the hall pretty soon afterwards, I would go take a shower and he would be in the kitchen watching the bathroom door waiting for me to walk out. He also used all of our upload bandwidth on the network sharing films on bittorrent.

Take a crap on his bed and see what he has to say about that.
My housemate is great. He's never here and when he is he's either sleeping or working so it's just like having my own place with only half of the bills :D

i live with the gf now it's a whole new world

most of the housemates i had with students were ok, although there were a few who were total psychos! in my final year i lived with a guy who once threatened to knock me out becasue i dared to take his go on tony hawks 2 on the station! he threatened me, then got up and switched the station off and stormed off in a huff and didn't apologise afterwards. then he almost had a fight with my mate over the washing up.

i live with 3 others. i hate 2 of them (woodsy2k is my other house, he rocks :p)

Most selfish, arrogant, lazy people i have ever met. Last year i lived in halls, and there were 20 of us in 2 flats, we all got on (and still do) fantasticly. why am i having such problem with just 4 in the house!! they never tidy up or clean or anything

the latest straw was coming downstairs in the morning to find my bike with a nice dent along the top bar, compromising the frame. it's not exactly a cheap frame either - price at the bottom. Will need a new frame

But what can i do?!

*punches a wall*

speak to them calmly and tell them you're unhappy about them doing nothing house-work wise.... tell them you're not their parents and they should be responsible for their own mess.

about the bike, again let them know you're unhappy about it. If no one offers to pay up, then fix it yourself and forget about it. Maybe the bike is covered under your parents house insurance?

Was that the Orange in your sig? That couldn't have been easy...

I've lived in a few shared houses, you will ALWAYS get a lazy housemate etc. Apparently last time I was away with work, one of my housemates had about a dozen people over till about 9:30am snorting coke off the counter top - nice!

i live on my own so all of my housemates are imaginary.. if i'm not getting on with one of them i just burn a wicker effigy of them in the back garden and imagine a new one.

:D

I'd link you to her, but you might slaughter me for even relating you to her. ;)

She has threatened to take a dump in housemates pillows before... .

Scans through thread for housemates, sig. Yay he doesn't hate me \o/.

Nah, mine are all cool, you should choose your housemates more carefully:p.

Shouldn't you have taken your stuff out and let him get on with it when you realised your mistake?

Totally agree ... could you not tell his clothes were not clean? Have to side with your housemate on this one.
