Who do you blame for the recession

I dont know if my post came accross as banker bashing because Im actually the oppisite, yes they offered money to people that could not pay it back but it is still the individuals fault for being naive enough to take it. If the banks did not take advantage of the situation they were in they would have lost out to other banks.

Labour are beyond belief, unfortunatly I can see them getting back in because people prefer to pretend like nothings wrong and to just keep printing the money!
 
Children.
They sit their all day, writing *** down and listening to some teachers talking about numeracy. We should do what the Spartans did, put all the kids in the woods for a few months and leave the weaklings out to die, at least then when it comes to World war three we will have a great army. Then we can use the next generation for skilled labour, so we will have an ultra master race.
 
Bankers gained out of the recession, when most others lost. The blame lays at the feet of the people that allowed the bankers to get away with it, not the bankers themselves.
 
I blame greed all round.. including the consumer.. Buck always ends with the bankers.. yet no one complains all the time they are lending to fuel peoples wants and needs.

Everyone who took out a loan they couldn't afford and all the lazy ****s who depend on the state for everything and can't be bothered to get the minimal qualifications/get a job

As far as I was aware the UK public has been pretty good at paying off it's mortgages and defaults are not substantially high considering the recession..

Whilst some were offered ridiculous deals (125% etc) the UK public is way down on the list as far as blame goes.
 
For me, the buck stops at all the US governments since Reagan. They agreed to de-regulating the investment banks, allowing bigger and bigger leverages and watched the ballooning of the CDO industry with no regard for what could happen. The whole point of government is to safeguard the security and stability of the civilisation, they can't blame bankers for being greedy or people for wanting better things for themselves, it happened on their watch, they are responsible.

If you set a house on fire you can't blame the fire for burning it down!
 
governments/central banks

i don't blame the bankers - they were simply behaving like bankers always have and always will - they are thieves, but thieves we need - its up to the gov to keep them in line, not be deluded by their promises of fictional wealth.
 
i blame everyone who takes out loans for everything and pays the minimum back every month (if that..), it's crazy, "oh i need a new car as this one isnt the latest, i know i'll get a loan..", people ending up with 20K debt for what? overspending on clothes and stuff... morons.

loan and debt culture.
