Just wondering, who actually bothers doing prestige mode on CoD4?

The only downside I can to niot doing it is if they ever release an update which require pretsige mode for unlocks. Other than that is there any other reason to do it other than to get a bigger E-peen?

My gamerscore is 500 and I've owned about 20 360 games so achievements haven't really arrived for me :p.

I just don't see the point in levelling to unlock things only to have them taken away from you again over and over. It's not like it's any different the second time around.

I originally wasn't going to bother, didn't see the point. It's worth doing though because it kinda forces you into using other weapons in the game and you learn more of the weapons. You go for challenges because of the 1000 point bonus on weapons so you get better with the crap weapons. I then find my skill with the good weapons rises.

Not one of us would use the Uzi or Scorpion if this didn't happen.

All that would happen otherwise is game after game of people using the same weapons.

I don't think I will bother with it. I'm cack at shooters so just getting to lvl 55 would be an achievement in itself for me.

Even so, it's no great mystery why the feature is there and why many people would use it.

I found myself doing the exact opposite, maybe that's why I found it pointless. I seemed to just use the M16 as I knew it was always there and is a good weapon.

Also, for those saying doing it for the fun, maybe I'm not as hardcore but I don't find any fun in doing the same thing again and again for little reward.

You get more reward from starting over again than you do in just sticking at lvl 55 and having literally nothing more left in the game to unlock.

I'd find it boring just sitting at 55. With prestige, every time you go through you want to unlock something that you used to great effect last time around (3 frags for example - How I miss them when charging down a middle flag at the start of domination :()

I did it because it keeps the game interesting, I don't bother with all of the challenges though, mainly just rank up the guns - apart from sniper rifles that is (yawn).

Scort.

There are people at the top of the rankings that are around the 20 days mark. And someone ranked 7th who managed that in 3 days, is that even possible?

i aint reached it yet, only lvl 41 at about 15 hours play or somethin

ill be doing it though, for a bigger e-penis and the added hours it will give to gameplay

yep, i'm currently at prestige 2 lvl 41. i got bored very quickly sitting at 55, i prefer my xp to be doing something and i get to do all the challenges again :)
