Who doesn't like kill Zone 2?

how can you say that, for gaming it is the most rich and luxorious time in recent history...

best fiends, best friendlies, best array of weapons...

i play(ed) CLose combat (Ww2 RTS), Company of Heroes (ww2 RTS) and COD5 (WW2 shooter) i think you can probably see a recurring theme here..

oh yea if Sinking the Tirpitz, or some other war film is on TV - can virtually guarantee ill be watching..

have you got any idea what the people of that generation went through.? absolutely unlike anything we have seen before or after.

You are literally the *only* guy who likes WW2 games. Everyone else is sick of the millions of WW2 fps coming out.

Killzone 2 is great, it's imo by far the best online competitive shooter on the PS3 and certainly a worthy competitor to the best 360 exclusive shooters too. The single player delivered an intense, well paced experience because of its linearity; a more open shooter would struggle to deliver such brilliant set pieces one after the other. Sometimes linearity is a good thing. Look at crysis for example, a very good shooter but in a different way, exploration and stealth are often required and you'll experience sometimes rather long periods without even seeing an enemy as you travel to your objective. Killzone 2 on the other hand rarely has a quiet moment, combat just continues from one massive street fight to the next, some sections of constant action last over an hour.

I think i am so spolied and used to COD that it makes it difficult to play Killzone 2, i like the setting and the gfx but i feel the overall controlls are a little slugish and with no aim assist it does make it a little difficult to lock on.

I havent played the MP yet, would people say its better then COD as im getting a bit bored of that atm and i need somthing new?

I would yes, it draws a lot of inspiration from CoD but imo improves on many elements. The autoaim is far less significant so skill becomes a much bigger factor, there's more game modes but more importantly game modes blend into one another during the same match. So for example, you'll be playing 'bomb the target' and win, but as soon as you bomb said target it'll seamlessly switch to assassination, capture the flag, bodycount etc etc. Really adds to the flow of the game.

On paper its about 100X better than COD, technically it's much greater and there is much more too it. But with lack of auto assist I think that a lot of people may find it not as fun as it's a lot harder. I'd give it ago though.

its not quantity, its quality that is important!

i find that the aiming and killing is much harder on cod5 online than KZ2 online...

there is much less margin for error on COD...

but i do like some KZ2 ideas, such as varying game modes within a single matchup as stated..

Had to jump of kz2 for now knifenfork the cats have got to go to the vets for there booster jabs mate .
Back on topic i feel killzone 2 doesnt need auto aim or aim assist or any of that infact , it would make me stop playing it .
If you put a good few hours in and squad up good with different ability,s you can dominate sections of the maps with a lower player count .
That is if of course if you get used to the rounds and how they fall like streeth explained in a early post :)

Is there co-op in the game yet? I probably wouldnt get it til co-op is in it since Single Player campaign I get bored with easily and am not really a fan of competitive multiplayer.

edit:

Lol this reminds me of Rhod Gilbert's rant about the duvet rating system from Live at the Apollo xD

i played the demo...looks quite good but that was it for me.
my aim sucks too much for me to enjoy a fps on a console.
i need more help with aiming with a joypad to make it a bit more fun.

Did you change the controls to alternate 2 and precision mode and put the sensitivity up a bit .
Find that helps a lot of people if you have tried it , it may not be the game for you .
It is imperative that team work together the main factor to win and dominate the different rounds .

I should mention that the demo is version 1 of Killzone 2 - it'll have the delayed aim and total lack of precision control. The full game is much more responsive.

That's the small problem with demos, you're not getting the latest updated version of the game so it's not really representative of the final product.

no i didnt do anything but suck badly tbh :p
but i guess il look for some options to mess abt with next time ...now that u told me.
