Who else is feeling the workload squeeze (assignments/dissertation etc)?

I know I am!

I've just knocked an 8.5K work Planning and Scheduling assignment on the head, which was based on planning the production sequence/facilities/layout, estimating and applying costs etc for the manufacture of table saws (of all things).

Two weeks hammering away every free evening for several hours and all the free weekend time I had.

It's not over though, I've got 8 weeks to do another 3 assignments. All of similar length.

I knew I should've got higher education out the way sooner!

So, who else is going to be shacked up in their office for the next X weeks?
 
Just starting the last week of a 7 week teaching practice here. Been going flat out every night and free minute during the day doing prep work and marking (all of which gets assessed by tutors from uni). After this I've to do a 10k word dissertation which I haven't even started researching for yet! Once that's submitted in May I then have a career entry profile to complete, assignment as part of my teaching practice and finally a very important presentation at the beginning of June with supporting 20 page assignment demonstrating my competitence as a teacher before I can graduate in July! Not really wanting to think of the stress over the next few months but I'm nearly there. Just hope I get the classification I deserve after all this hard work!!
 
Sounds nightmarish!

We'll be out the other side soon though. I can't wait for the first BBQ of the summer, relaxing with a beer, and not having to think about assignments!
 
only in first year but the workload is really mounting up. I'm my own worst enemy half of the time as I do things to the best standard I can.

I've got to model, unwrap and texture a pod racer in Maya, finish a 14" sculpt of Hulk, composite some more video and make a final edit, and ongoing work for our multi-year module is painting up prosthetics, set dressing and also camera-matching footage from a street we filmed in maya!

it's all very hands on final product stuff, so theres no way it can be rushed or anything. most of it is for the week after easter but damn... I had no idea how little time I would have in year one of uni! i've been in every day for weeks now.
 
did a bit this afternoon on my refurb project but have a group project and managerial assignment to do. the lecturers not being in most the time on the one day a week i have to go on my course is really not helping and should i fail, they will know about it
finding the work/study/social balance almost impossible lately
 
No projects, but 4 weeks left to revise for my 3rd year exams. 10 modules this year, and they're all ****ing difficult.:(

Then I get 2 projects with a 6 week deadline on each.
 
Currently doing the group part of my final year design project which we had in in mid April. We don't have a page limit but a thickness limit instead of 70mm!:eek:

What course are you doing? :)
 
I'm in the same boat with exams. Doing a joint honers degree at Nottingham Uni, Computer Science and management. This Semester has been particularly short and i'm at the late stage of hurrying coursework to hand in... got a few essays to write and java programs to make.

70mm.. wow sh4rk. I think staples sell thick card - :)
 
Just finished my physics masters project, handed it in on friday, 42 pages of stressful hellish effort!
 
Before you say anything i know a levels arnt even in the same league as uni stuff but to me at the moment they are hard. Just about to start revision for 7 exams, now its A2 the pressure is on for uni!

special effects development at bolton, not too great of a course but making the most of it! the first year is split 50/50 CGI and physical effects, hence the odd mix of maya, and 'real stuff' we have a new lecturer this year who is awesome though, so i'll be taking the CGI route for the next two years. its one of those courses that is what you make of it!

not looking forward to writing a dissertation in year 3!
 
1 week to do half a dissertation. and some presentations (i lie, its groupwork, but whatever). And another piece of coursework (2000 words) by thursday. And lectures...

Can't believe it..

Same here, ridiculous workloads! Ive had to write 10k words + all the research this month (hopefully another 3 days and it will be done). Then have to dedicate April to passing 7 hardcore exams in May :(

Then got to do a 18k word thesis for September but that should be nicer as I can work when I want over 3 months with nothing else on :)

Busy period now (when is it not though) all the winter leagues (Europe & Middle East) are still going and all the summer leagues (Scando & far East) are starting up so lots to price up
