How many people have break down cover? Yes, No, Pancake.

Last night a spring on my front drivers side went after I had parked my car in town. (£100 to replace including wheel aligment and labour).

I didn't have break down cover nor have I for around 4 years. Average cost of break down cover £40 x 4 =£160. To get my car towed to a garage last night = £70.

Food for thought. Just like any insurance I guess hence why I haven't insured my iphone 3 years now and still going strong ;)

Whos gonna change your tyre if you get a puncture without it :)

I do.

Don't forget, that's breaking down in a populated area, what if you are miles away, or on the motorway and a breakdown occurs?

yup have household breakdown cover, peace of mind if i'm ever at the other end of the country and the car chucks it, or if i'm not around and the wifes chucks it at least i have a man in an orange van to sort her out :)

also have made good use of it over the years ;) buying cars down south getting a few miles from the sellers home then "disabling" the car result- free trip home and epic fuel savings - good when buying sub 20mpg cars at the other end of the country

It means i wait longer for the RAC man to get there :)

I have RAC cover, did a family deal with my parents/brother/sister using the tesco clubcard points, if it wasnt for them I probably wouldnt bother as I havent actually called them out in the past 3-4 years of being covered (touch wood).

Ive never had breakdown cover in 8 years of owning cars! Tempted to get it at the moment however but its pretty dear from what i can see at £100~inc home start stuff..

I bet it wouldnt have cost £70 to recover you back to Nottingham if you were in Cornwall for example.

So it's people like you that increase my premium... :(

I have an AA top package, and have had to use it twice in three years.

wow, words fail

Breakdown cover included with my insurance. Clutch went when in town and took recovery 40 minutes to get picked up and to garage of my choice.

they dont mind if you do that it keeps them in a job :)

I just couldnt be arsed waiting around for the truck to come, then having a boring longer journey home next to the smelly driver, just to save a few quid

:p

half the fun in getting a new car is driving it back
