Who has disabled there "superfetch" in vista?

So you reckon waiting 30 seconds isn't worth the enhanced load times for your favorite apps for the rest of the day?

It can be a bit annoying at times but since it learns your usage habits over time and will prefetch certain programs at certain times of day based on your previous behaviour, I think its a worthwhile experiment. It works for me...

Its well worth haveing after its been on a week or two. I see no reason not to use it. Sure it slows your down for a little while but in the long tearm its better.

No way i'd ever disable it. At worst (by leaving it enabled) you'd get identical performance.

If you want to stop the HDD mashing, think about disabling Windows Defender and Indexing. They're the usual culprits.

i've used vlite to strip most of the crap out of vista....but i left superfetch intact because it's actually useful and i don't notice it at startup either. :)
