Just had a bit of a to to with a clown in my road ( wasnt a real clown btw )
I live up a street of terrace houses, parked on both sides are cars, so when you face on comming traffic either you or the oncommer moves in or waits till you pass.
Was just on my way to Tescos, I turn the car round and follow another car down the road, then the clown in his warrior truck comes up the road towrards the car in front of me, he honks his horn and calls the woman a silly cow and a few F words too, he tells her its his right of way but she manages to get past him.....Me i decide this guy is a ****** and go right towards him and decide im not going to pull in, again he tells me its his right of way to which i reply **** *** and drive past :D
whos right of way was it ?
I only did this because of his attitude, ive lived in this street for 5 years now and never have I heard someone say its their right of way when this sort of thing happens, normally people pull in or I pull in and its all very civil.

If there are cars on both sides of the road I don't think anyone really has right of way. Common sense is needed and if there is a space you can pull up in, do it.

No one has right of way. It's just about who's the couteous one and let the other driver get passed. If they say it's their right of way I'd say the same thing. Probably thought it was his right of way since he had a big unecessary tank!

just as i thought, thats why i decided to to what i did
****** man in warrior
if it is noones right of way, but you had to decide on who should go, its me as its the street were i live, i wasnt a tit and called a woman a cow and F words, and he had rammy teeth !

usually it's correct for the driver with the traffic or obstacle impeding them to wait for the flow of traffic the other way to end, mean while uphill traffic has ( according to the highway code ) the right of way, thats about as much as i remember from when i drove, am pretty sure it's not changed in a few years

Some people just love appearing like they are the "Jack The Lad" of the road and always right while everyone else is wrong and doesn't know how to drive. They just look for any opportunity to hurl abuse frankly.

If both sides have parked cars then whoever is going uphill has right of way if it's too flat too tell you can get a marble and whoever it rolls too has right of way, failing that whoever has the biggest willy

If there are cars lined down both sides of the road then I imagine it's neithers right of way. It's who ever has a suitable gap should do the courteous thing and pull in and allow drivers to pass.

As far as I am aware regardless of which side of the road an obstacle may be on neither direction has a 'right of way', if it is signposted, they may have 'priority' but otherwise good manners, courtesy and accident prevention are the order of the day.

I'm glad you clarified that point.

As said, no one has right of way, it's down to whoever is polite and let's the other past. He might have been an arse, but you didn't really need to mouth off at him.

I saw a classic this morning. A double decker bus was stuck, either the bus or the oncoming car had jumped the gun and no one could go anywhere. There was a queue of about 3 cars behind the oncoming car, and limited gaps between the parked cars on both sides of the road.

seeing the problem i left a car sized gap when i pulled in so that someone could reverse in to it and clear the blockage. Just as they were sorting this out, an idiot in a corsa comes screaming down the road, straight into the gap i had left.

So we all sat there for a further 5 minuites.

If all else is equal, I always would say the person entering the restricted area first has the right of way - if you approach the double parked cars, or have opportunity to pull in, when you can see someone else has already committed, then you should let them through.
