No no! I meant my ability at writing music is awful! (Hence the GCSE part ). Silbelius is excellent (although it does have an annoying bug as of when the cursor still has a note 'attached' to it).
It's not a bug, it's a feature :p

If you mean clearing the keypad press escape, or click the blank button on the keypad, the idea it that it retains the note so you do not have to keep clicking all the time...

http://www.sibeliusmusic.com has some discussion forums you might like to poke your head round. I'm there, Gareth Jones. :)

I should've been more specific - normally clicking the note again on the keypad will return the cursor to normal. However, quite often clicking on the note on the keypad again does nothing (and it's still selected).

If this was what you were meaning anyway - it's a bloody annoying feature :P.

It was just what I learnt with - I can still write music substantially faster in v7 than in v2, which is what I have on this PC.

I don't suppose if anyone knows if it's possible to get Sibelius (2.0) to swing quavers?

Toolbar -> Play -> Performance -> Rhythmic Feel (Combo Box)

i use sibelius, logic, modplug and occasionally cooledit

but i mostly write on piano or guitar :)

The first stuff I ever did was with Rave E-Jay and it kicked ass I've moved on now to Fisher Price's My First Sequencer errrr I mean Cubase. Shweet.

Use two versions of Cubase - vst3.7 and SX, and Soundforge, vsti instruments, Acid 2.0 and 3.0, a bit of Fruity Loops or Rebirth for some variation, on 2 pc's - one with midi keyboard, one without.
Oh, and lots of geetars..............;)
