Who here owns a Subaru?

:D The snow is coming down hard now, and I have the Scooby with me at work. :D

Obligatory snow pic from last night!

Well currently i have Team Dynamics motorsport PRO 1.2 18" wheels. I was looking at some speedline turinis that were on ebay for a starting price of £300. However they are off of a hawkeye STI, with the PCD @ 114 pcd, i wont be bidding lol.

I will probably refurb mine and get then pained.

Was potentially after something a bit more subaru original.

I keep learning about the car everyday though :)

I do like Team Dynamics on a Scooby

Well, shes gone guys.

Someone made an 8 hour trip to come get her from Aberdeen in the snow, ice and sleet. My ebay advert had over 50 watchers and 1080 views. I've had a phenomenal interest - it was the best car selling experience Ive ever had, in the sense there was no anxiety about it not selling (or selling it for a silly price). I made £500 profit on her which was nice :D

Thank you for everyone's help and support, particularly Kostas and Gurdas :)

I'll be going back to a little 3dr hot hatch, either another MK5 R32 or FN2 Type-R. Hopefully the R32, funds permitting.

Blimey, didn't last long at all did it? Went very quickly! Did you have many viewings or did the first viewer buy? Great that you made a profit! Shame that you didn't gel with it :(

I've never sold a car so fast. I had 50+ watchers and 1100+ viewings on eBay. I had people making relatively high offers (plus stupid ones of course) without even seeing the car and wanting to send deposits. I'd took a deposit with a few hours of it going live. They really are in demand at the moment, which I know all to well myself when I was waiting...and waiting...and waiting.

Sounds like a great experience then! Fair play. Hope you get what you're looking for next time!

Insurance quotes are still coming in at £2k, which is just stupid.

Who you all with?

Admiral win every time for me. Multicar.

Fair enough.

If anyone asks my experience of Subarus then at last I can say for the near 8 years of driving I have owned one, and have experience of driving them at all different models/powers from driving others cars etc.

Im missing my induction noise. I get a very slight noise from the K&N panel filter, but nothing to the extent that i had with my old cossie.

I know that i wont get any benefits from having a cone filter over a panel, thats not the aim or point.

I also have read that a remap will needed to be completed. This is the limit of my knowledge, i know about the MAF sensor being very sensitive with regards to fitment of cone airfilters.

Ideally i would prefer to go back to a GGR airfilter. They are big, but no point in having a small airfilter IMO.

I take it a GGR would fit ?? What silicone hose would i need ?

What are the other options ??

I know about the K&N Typhoon cone airfilter system, are there any other options ??

Honestly.. unless you get a big turbo, and blank off the dumpvalve, you will not get much induction noise. No where near old school Cossie noises at least!

But yeah really need a remap with these as it really alters the MAF readings. Find something that doesn't need a different induction hose, as the standard one helps introduce a bit of turbulence which helps keep turbo surge at bay. The VF35 being a very surgey turbo with big induction kits (speaking from my own experience here.)

If you do go the induction kit route, ensure to have a good cold air feed. I even made a heatshield around mine, helps inlet temps for sure.

Yes, inner wing ones are great for getting cool air!

Yours surely makes much more noise due to the bigger turbo though?

Don't really have a lot of induction noise on mine. Despite a rather large RCM cone filter.

In preparation for the MLR Sprint series, I have ordered a Whiteline roll centre adjustment kit, which includes a free whiteline front drop link kit! Found below for anyone interested:

I have also ordered a 2litre fire extinguisher as per the requirement in the MLR Sprint Series.

I'm debating ordered a baffled sump due to the fact that I use semi slicks on track. But at £550 it's not cheap, but potentially will save me a few thousand should the oil splash about too much!
