Who is going to get a Pascal Titan X ?

Unless you are buying for workstation and need the extra power now... Then no! In fact even for work stuff the 2xRX480 would be a better bet. Just one rx480 beats the current Titan in resolve!

Basically unless you intend to make money out of it even then you're probably smoking something if you buy for games!

From what Grester has said the 480 was much better in video encoding than his GTX 1080 as well. I wouldn't be surprised if it beat the new Titan X as well there. Although the new XP does have more compute functionality, so we'll have to check reviews.

Which is a tad worrying as LinusTech admitted on last night's Stream that the new Titan launched surprised all of them, and no one has any review samples to test before the card launches.

That means a buyer only has NVIDIA's performance numbers in their press release to go off on.

Exactly. I just don't know who this card would appeal to? Maybe the memory bandwidth would be useful for some applications?

People that use a lot of CUDA, it's a sure thing for them if they don't need a Quadro. We'll have to wait for reviews though; Anandtech usually include some Video and compute tests as well.

For me it's not a question of affording one, It's a question of being a dunce, This would be an idiotic purchase as it's not even the full chip which will probably be out a hand full of months later.

Watch it. Said the same thing in the other thread and got attacked for it and my posts deleted, but yes you're 100% correct:)

If people get offended by that they need to go back to their "safe space", Get a venti chai tea mocha latte with nonfat organic free ranged creamer, A shot of extra whipped vanilla cream, Soothing music and a hypoallergenic blankie so they can download the latest rainbow feewings app on their iphone in starbucks ! :p

By all means bring on the full fat chip and I'll gladly pay the same price they are charging for this one but paying this amount of money for a cut down chip is loopy.

It's an odd age we live in. Offence is caused at the simplest of replies!

TRIGGERED!!!!!! :D

It's because a lot of people have turned into gaping pussies :p

I triggered myself, I now need a safe space in my room so I can figure out how I can turn this into me being a victim, Generation special ********* FTW :p

Come on man, Victim is MY Trigger word.:D

Side note, Im starting a campaign for Nvidia only bathrooms :p

I'm very much considering getting one was going with 1080 SLI but with uncertainty of SLI going forward I think this might be a solid option for me.

Would be putting it under water.

Hope you guys don't ever look at the guardian website, plenty of 'safe space' no platforming social justice warriors there!

Back on topic as previously mentioned this card has all the hallmarks of the original titan launch with with a cut down gpu being fairly quickly superseded by the 'full fat' complete die. As such expect big buyers regret if you splash out £1000++ for one!
