Who maintains the Open reach boxes in the home?

from the picture it doesn't look like there is any problems. the master socket looks like properly secured to the wall albeit overhanging a bit.

the face plate you are referring to should be attached back into the master socket. the normal way is to be rid off the ADSL filter that you have plugged into the test socket of the master socket. and have the face plate in with individual phone line and modem data line plugged into the respective sockets. but i take it you must have had problems with the face plate sockets thus the arrangements you have in the picture.

if that is the case, plusnet should be able to get a BT engineer out and replace that. alternatively buy a face plate or the whole socket from ebay or where ever (the thing is really common) and plug the new face plate in and get rid off the filter.
