Like the Cullens once in a blue moon I get a craving for blood but with spices and fried in an English Breakfast.

I’ve seldom buy them at home and only get it when I’m at a hotel breakfast normally and this time I bought some but it tastes bland. No texture (not enough oats?) and just doesn’t have flavour.

What else are better? Without trying every black pudding from all the local butchers.

Bury is terrible. Low fat black pudding what.

Stornoway is the best Scottish style.

The Fruit Pig Co makethe best I have tasted so far. Absolutey delicious. Actually made with fresh blood too.

Well I agree not Bury, it's awful.

I've generally not seen many other other brands on the shelf and normally had to rely on my local butcher having a good supply. Might have to try those two recommendations.

Turns out The Fruit Pig Company has stockists local to me so I'll give that a go.

Much prefer the Scottish style.

I‘d just go to your local butcher(s) and try a few. Mine does a lorne with black pudding in the middle, amazing on a roll.

If the other style are the ones with those fat cubes in them then not a fan no.
i usually buy Stornoway from Costco chop it up and freeze it.
I like a slice with poached egg on top, sometimes crumble a cooked slice into mac and cheese or mixed into plain rice :D

If you cant get to a costco then Stornaway is too expensive because of delivery charges.
I order at the same time as friends so we can share the delivery cost.

Edit: just checked and up to 10kg is only £8 delivery! A full black pudding is 1.3kg, so you can get seven delivered for £8. If the website is up to date for delivery charges. Seems cheap to me.

I seriously could not put a name to them (not much use I know) but have really liked those bought in Bury market and the covered markets in Newcastle.
