Who ordered one?, (HD2900XT)

Ordered the HIS version and it's been despatched ;)

I'm hoping it's not an expensive mistake but time will tell.

Driver support and having HDMI (with sound) sealed it for me and the fact that i'll be upgrading to vista in the coming months.

Most of the benchies I've seen have all been DX9 and the x2900 performs well/average in most but DX10 will be where it's at in the future. I'm hopefull ATI will be competative in future titles with better driver support.

Whatever the outcome it's my money at the end of the day and I'll spend it however I want :p

im more worried about now wanting to upgrade the rest of my system...ah well that can wait a while yet...itll bottleneck, but oh well:

Which case?, I think the card was really worth it, remember these are just pre alpha drivers not even final yet, should be some big improvements to come judging by the way there progressing atm.

The card will get better, every review has stated so far they have found oddities due to the pre mature drivers 2900 will beat the GTS in most games and be close to beating the GTX also in the near future.

Yer but hes pointing out that hes taking a risk (not a big one) that the drivers will mature and be very competitive to the gtx. All your pointing out is thats its slower but thats from poor drivers.

Yup most reviews have also said your investing into the fact that the drivers will mature and get better, since this has happened many a time in the past and ATi's track record with drivers I have full confidence they will sort it. :)

Why would you get a card like that and only run it at 1280x1024 res? All initial release drivers are abit weak, 8800 owners are still waiting for a solid set of drivers for Vista and thats been out for a while now.

1280x1024 is the most commonly used res believe it or not so its a fair comparison. NV users are also waiting for a solid set of drivers full stop so lets not go there, hey?

They have a point, 1920x1280 is a resolution for the PC elite only. 1280x1024 or a 17" to 19" TFT is the norm and all cards rock doing that even with the AA/AF turned up.

If benchmarks sell cards then AMD are in trouble though.

I wouldnt say there in trouble but it does give them a lot of incentive to keep churning out thost CAT's with more and more improvements as has happened in the past. :D
