who us using 64bit vista and can play COD 4?

well as the thread says,
are you?
cos i cant get my call of duty 4 to work on my 64 bit vista
keeps saying that the key is invalid. yet it worked fine on my XP instal :confused:
anyone got some advice on what to try?

no problems at all here. I don't think any game that new should have any trouble with vista 64
 
Vista 64 Ultimate here and CoD4 runs like a dream on it.
Old pc would get 15 fps on Overgrown, new one gets around 85fps on overgrown so im happy.

thats the thing i cant even install it cos it wont let me put the CD key on the game as it comes up as invalid key :mad: and the tech help are blaming vista 64
ahh well
gonna have to try and batter some knowledge into him

turning off UAC did not do a thing

and as for a cloned key i guess you could be right. but how the hell did they?
i dunno what to do now :(
 
maybe u need to un-install/de-activate it on XP ? only a guess, not sure how the key works of COD4
 
Even if your key had been stolen, you would still be able to install the game. I know its silly but are you sure your actually entering the key correctly?
 
Oh the installer does NOT check online what key you use, you could install the game on the same key 100 times and it'd be fine, as any normall pc game not called Bioshock.

You could just not install it and run it from the xp install folder, just make sure you backup your stats file first as it often resets if you try it in another OS.

i just looked and found out i was trying to install the key for the free strategy guide.... :rolleyes:
you are now free to rip the living daylights out of me :rolleyes:
