Hi there

Right first of all for this competition you will need the two following images:-

HIGH-RES LOGO DOWNLOADS
Intel High-Res LOGO
OcUK High-Res LOGO

Intel Six Core Extreme Edition CPU Give-a-way

The Prizes
1. You can win Intel's latest Gulftown processor which is released 23rd February 2011 worth $1000.
2. Two runners up will win an Intel 40GB SSD each.

Competition Instructions
1. You need the two above logos, Intel & OcUK, you need to print these labels or use some good photoshopping skills.
2. Then we want you guys too show us a photo you have taken or photoshop work of the two logos in a really cool situation. Could be images of you holding the logos, placing the logos in a strange place basically something that advertises Intel/OcUK and it looks cool. Please *NO* nudity or anything that could break the law, use common sense. Genuine taken photos stand a far higher chance of winning over photoshop work!
3. Then you need to post your photo or photoshop work on *BOTH* FACEBOOK and TWITTER, if you don't have an account make one, which must link to this thread.
4. On Facebook and Twitter make a post saying #OverclockersUK #Intel Competition entry and attached your photo.
5. For proof you need to post your image here and links to your facebook and twitter pages showing proof you have done so.
6. Finally you need to become a fan on our facebook page and a follower on twitter, plus you obviously need to be a member of these forums.
7. ONE ENTRY PER FORUM MEMBER!

RULES!
1. Genuine photos stand higher chance of winning.
2. No Nudity or sexual innuendo.
3. Nothing that breaks the law or could get OcUK / Intel in trouble.
4. Must post your photo, link to facebook and twitter status update in a reply to this thread and the status MUST SAY "#OverclockersUK #Intel Competition entry" with the photo attached and LINKED to this thread.
5. Closing date 23rd February!
6. OcUK will select the winning entries
7. You obviously need to be a forum member.
8. ONE entry per user
9. Resolution of images MUST be between 600 and 1600 pixels in width. The Height is not relevant.

Yes its not the easiest competition as you actually have to do something, but the prize is epic and the two runner up prizes aint bad. :)
Any questions ask but I think I've made it as clear as possible.

How demanding? What about those of us that do not have facebook and twitter accounts nor want anything to do with them? Not very nice for loyal customers that spend a fortune at OCUK to be told we have to jump through hoops to help advertise OCUK. :(

Don't enter then! Were not giving away a USB pen or picture frame here, were giving away a CPU worth over $1000, that means you need to do something for it, END OF!

Signing upto Facebook/Twitter is FREE and takes minutes, if you want to enter this competition, then thats what you need to do, otherwise don't enter.

What does "how much you spend at Overclockers UK" have to do with anything? This is a competition. By not entering, you're not loosing out on anything. However, if you do, you get a chance to win a superb Intel CPU. People complain about absolutely anything these days.

I know its so saddening, how dare we give something away really. Has the UK got so lazy that people find it too hard to do some simple task.

Hell if I had the remotest chance of winning something of such value I'd be well up for it.

I'm "moaninng" because I find it completely lame that you have to sign up to facebook. It's annoying enough when you see other stuff demanding a facebook/twitter account, but I thought OCUK was above that and might have valued its customers a bit more and might simply allow loyal forum members/customers the opportunity perhaps? I do not want to have to sign up to those places. Even with fake details it's a waste of my life.

Its advertising and PR, make a fake account if you wish, at least then you can enter, if not don't.

But if ourselves and Intel are giving away such kit, we want something in return which is free PR and as Facebook and Twitter is used by more than those who don't use it, I am afraid its one of the rules of this competition should you choose to enter.

I have noticed this a lot of late as well. It really is sad. I mean sad in the real opposite of happy sad. Genuinely dissapointing as a loyal OCUK customer to see some of the posts from OCUK staff. Bit like in the thread about Sandy Bridge issues dictating what customers should/should not and do/do not do with their PCs. This is the issue OCUK.

There is no anger, just
Customers are given the opportunity to enter a competition to win Intel's flagship yet to be released processor, they moan even though entry is at your own free will, no one has to enter.

Now however stating how OcUK dictates how customers should and should not do with their PC's does get my back up, so let me get this right, I personally go out of my way testing Sandybridge to try and discover whats killing them to help customers killing their own. I post all my findings and post advice and as many pointers as I can. I went out of my way to help customers to help them prevent damaging their hardware on a new widely un-tested platform. Myself nor anyone at OcUK was dictating, we were performing an investigation and sharing our results, something none of our competitors did. We went above and beyond our way to help out.

Just to Clarify, it says:

So am I right in guessing, put your Facebook status as "#OverclockersUK #Intel Competition entry", and a link to this thread, and a link to your photo? And post that in this thread?

And then the same as on Twitter?

It's abit confusing at the mo!

EDIT: The # in the status makes sense for Twitter, but you realise it won't do anything on facebook? You have to put a @ sign in front like @OverclockersUk etc.

If anyone can clear this up it's appreciated ;)

Yes thats right.

So take picture. Then make a facebook and twitter post, for twitter use # and facebook use @ or no symbol with the status "OverclockersUK Intel Competition Entry"
Link your status update to this thread and attach the image and then post the links to your status update here with your photo. :)

Hi there

To answer those with facebook privacy settings to allow friends ONLY simply join the OcUK fan page and OcUK group on facebook and that should allow your page with status update to be viewed. :)

Mr BIOS

Very smart and good idea their.

I now suspect we will see more photos of members taking over all their work PC's or using laptops with images in the background in strange places. ;)

Lets see more folks, 1 incredible prize up for grabs and 2 other great prizes too. :)

As the NDA is now over, I can tell you the prize is indeed a 990X. :D

Keep the entries coming guys. :)
You will see this CPU cost £870 to buy, needless to say this is an epic prize.

So far due to lack of entries, chances of winning are very good.

So uploading it to that "twitpic" is a necessity? I've no idea how to use twitter, i couldn't find it :( Does it still meet the rules that the image has a link to it on twitter and on here?

Twitpic? Nope just twitter is fine, just put the text and link to this thread is good enough on twitter. :)
