Yes - we noticed OCUK's listing mentioned this and did advise them to remove it. To be fair, the product is so new that we've only just managed to get the proper blurb and marketing pics together - sometime next week, OCUK will update their site with the correct info.

If it bothers you that much, and you've had it less than 14 working days, then return the DGM under OcUK's 14 day satisfaction guarantee.

Ive had it since day of release so no going back now, Im happy with it still.

I'll be in touch ;)

My statement was based on the original HZ27WB and I was informed the panel was the same as before just in a new enclosure. If things have been changed then that's positive news on the AG front :)

How does this monitor differ from the original exactly? I'm slightly confused by these Hazro's. Or is this simply a price-drop or new stock?

Does this monitor have a glass front? - seems to be one of the biggest problems with dust being trapped behind the glass fronted panels.

Would this be a good upgrade from my Hazro HZ24Wi? It's a solid monitor, but it's four years old and has always had bright patches when displaying dark colours.

If dual-link DVI is the only thing you need then this could be a nice upgrade for you. Keep in mind that if you any kind of 3D games that the resolution you want to run this thing on will need quite powerful hardware.

You need to ensure your MBP or PC can support Dual Link resolutions. The older MBPs had a DL DVI connector - the newer unibody types come with DP only and therefore, you need a miniDP to DL DVI adapter (but beware: these adapters can be buggy).

So what's the deal with this screen? There doesn't seem to be much information provided.

It has the wrong stand ie not the one listed on Hazros site, or the one listed in any reviews?

Is it glossy or matt?

Does it have the glass front that is stuck on with sellotape and falls off?

Its an 'intro offer' although the screen seems to have been on the market for 2 years?

Im confused :(

I would also be interested in the answers to these questions...

as far as i know its the same as the old HZ27WB but with a new style enclosure and stand. the stand looks to be a basic tilt adjustment only, not the full tilt, height and rotate range of the old stand. As far as i know there is no glass front or glossy coating and the screen still features an AG coating. Hazro have suggested in this thread that it might be a lighter AG coating than the older revision but that's not been verified yet.

The intro offer is only because it's a new revision of the HZ27WB (call it the HZ27WB v2 for now) and so OcUK have the first batch based on this new design / enclosure

note, there's some slightly adventurous marketing going on with the spec there. the 117% NTSC gamut coverage listed must be based on some other measurement classification. Compared with the "normal" listing of NTSC coverage the LM270WQ2 panel covers 102% of the NTSC colour space. Dell list the U2711 as CIE1976 (110%) and CIE1931 (102%) coverage, not sure where this 117% comes from. As an additional note the 10-bit / 1.07 billion colour support is delivered through the use of an 8-bit panel with AFRC as well, not a true 10-bit module.

  1. The enclosure is very similar to the HZ27WC - its slightly thicker as the CCFL panel is always going to be thicker than the LED
  2. The stand is the same as the HZ27WC i.e. a fixed tilt only stand
  3. The panel is matte
  4. There is no glass front
  5. The previous HZ27WB in an all metal casing was mainly a B2B monitor and never sold via resellers. The popularity of that model prompted us to change the case and offer it a significantly reduced price. Apart from the case/stand, nothing else has changed.
  6. New images, blurb and marketing material is due to go live on our new site this month.

Yes - but the WU5 'true' 10bit panel flopped costing +£800 so all 10bit panels are now the same in 24", 27" and 30".

Thanks for the replies guys.

The reported issues with glass in previous models was my major concern, and the matte is a big plus.

Not bothered about the stand (beyond basic tilt being a must).

Presuming it has the same v.low input lag of previous models, I think I'll likely grab a couple at this price.

yep, not disputing that at all, just raising the point in case anyone asks about the 10-bit support of the panel here :)
