I've never grasped the concept of 'supporting' anything in my life. lol So naturally i don't really care here either.
I think it was growing up in a town where 90% of males supported Newcastle United like their lives depended on it and I thought Football was utterly awful and instead followed Ice Hockey. The only ever instance of showing support was for Pittsburgh Penguins because the player I looked up to the most as a kid played there. Jagr.
Now..back on track (pun totally not intended because it sucked...)
I really enjoyed the races last year when the midfield teams performed well. So purely because I want good races I will be hoping the likes of Sauber, Williams, Force India, Mercedes and Lotus are competing at the front with the big 3.
The more of that, the more i'll be enjoying it.
Also...I like Lotus because I love Black and Yellow/Gold. (hence my original interest in Pittsburgh Penguins).
Romain IMO was a little hard done by last season and after a couple only minor errors, he had that big one and everyone came down massively on him and he collapsed under the pressure of that. However, before that accident he had shown quite clearly that he was more than able to match the best.
At that level, he should have handled the pressure of course but I still think he will shine this year if he has got over that during the break. Unfortunately he'll be asked about it constantly before even starting.
So because of that, I actually hope he shuts everyone up and performs.
At least he showed excitement and commitment and genuine speed unlike many of the others who I find very boring.
My favorite driver if I had to say one though is the Hulk.
I couldn't believe when he was dropped and feel he is one of the few younger drivers of recent years who does have the potential to mix it up at the front end in a better team.
I have a feeling that he will follow Perez and gain some good podiums with Sauber and then jump into a top team from there.
Mclaren missed out massively getting Perez instead IMO. I don't think he's ready but Hulk is.
So I guess despite not supporting anyone...i'd like to see certain teams and people do well because I feel if they do - then it will produce excitement.
Biggest shame is no Kumi he may have been a bit inconsistent but very entertaining and certainly better than quite a few who are racing this year.
Bottas will be interesting to watch and as mentioned if Maldanado can sort himself out then he has shown some pretty insane 1 lap pace.
Hamilton should also provide some fun mixing it up with the midfield teams trying to reach the podium when the big 3 fall short.
