Who would your 3 Statues be

Jimmy McGrory (501 appearances, 522 goals).
Danny McGrain (described as the best left back in the world by fellow players).
Henrik Larsson (I am honoured to have watched him play).

Those three would go nicely with the statues of Jimmy Johnston and Jock Stein that are already in place.

Dundee FC

Barry Smith
Captained us to the First Division title in 1997 and played over 400 games for us in a time when we were signing the likes of Ravanelli and Caniggia. Took over as manager in 2010 as we entered administration for a second time and were languishing in the first division. Immediately took us on a club record 23 game unbeaten run and, despite a 25 point deduction and having to sack the majority of our players go, we survived relegation comfortably. Always a legend. A phenomenal run with a squad packed with youth just to make up the numbers. I'll never forget it.

Bob Shankley
Managed us to the Division One title in 1962 (top division back then) and then into the semi-finals of the European Cup.

Bobby Cox
Captain of the 1962 league winning team. No need to say any more.

We already have Shankly, so if I was adding 3 more, Paisley, Dalglish, Carragher.

Just wondering why Carra is the 3rd choice as a statue? Surely other players have done more to warrant that sort of honor?

Emlyn Hughes
Billy Liddell
Phil Neal
Ian Callaghan

4 off the top of my head that are far more deserving.

Paisley
Dalglish
Liddell

for me though

He certainly wouldn't be 1 of my 3 but I do think a section of our support is overly critical of Carra. He's already made the 2nd most appearances in the clubs history and while he won't catch Callaghan, by the time he retires he'll be a fair way ahead of 3rd place. That's got to count for something.

We're fotunate enough to have had so many great players and managers that legitimate case could be put forward for 10-15 statues but imo, Shanks, Paisley and Dalglish are a cut above the rest.

ARSENAL

bergkamp, viera and a n other

LIVERPOOL

dalgleish, rush and neale

MUFC

cantona, robson and ferguson

CHELSEA

terry, lampard and abramovich

Matt Le Tissier

Ricky Lambert (probably will end up a club legend after a couple more seasons)

Markus Liebherr standing with Nicholas Cortese as a joint one to go next to the Ted Bates one...

Probably anyway

Yeah that the quality in general of your side in the last 10 years has been that dire he's been able to hang in at least 4 past when he should have been long gone.

Where as the teams from the 80's required far more quality to stay in the side or get moved on :D

It's kinda like saying hibbert should have a statue because of how long he's been at everton ;)

Sir Matt Busby
Sir Alex Fergerson

Sir Bobby Charlton for everything he's done for the club both as a player and as an ambassador and mentor.

I wasn't suggesting he deserves a statue, it was a general point about criticism Carra is now getting. His last 2 and a half (not 4) seasons haven't been good enough but you don't play near 700 games for a club like ourselves if you're a bad player.

And I don't know what you're winking at, Hibbert most probably will get a statue for your lot :p
