Whoa! 7900GS is a cracker

Just popped into OcUK and bought a OcUK 7900GS.Stuck it in the PC and ran auto-detect with coolbits 1500/495

Extremely Quiet compared to the x1900xt in my other PC.

Now just need to see how it performs.If it's any good i shall have to add a 2nd for SLi Goodness.

Is that the one with the Zalman cooler? Did you get the 512Mb version yeah? I was looking at x2 of these in SLi so it'll be good to see your findings.

Yup thats the one i got.Scored just under 8000 3DMark05 Compared to 11,000 on my x1900xt based system.

Just wacked some AS5 under it so will let that sit at these speeds for a while.Idle Temp is 47c

525 on the core is a bit low but then again i guess your just breaking it in. turn up the heat once the as settles.

also get a better background picture, try a classic like a good old Mr T pic with loads of gold chains! Mr T is a GANGSTER :cool:

Mr T may well be "Gangster" but i know which one i'd prefer to be locked in a room with.

Once its broke in a bit i will give it some abuse

Gonna run 3D06 on a loop,should do the trick.

Hi there

If you get a real good one upto 650MHz is possible with no mods. Plus some have hit upto 1750MHz memory as well I believe.

thats some real crazy clocks. it just seems to be a real temptation for me to get one and sell up on the 7600gt i have.

8000 Stock is not too shabby at all. I get 8.5k with my (sadly discontinued) 7800GTX, so hopefully once you find the max of the card it will score even higher and for the price you could SLi two of them and have a cracking little system for very little muh-la! :cool:

I would imagine so,Seems like the CPU is bottlenecking me now.

Make sure you clock that CPU then.

It just aint fast enough for two GS's in SLI.
