Who's getting a new GTS?

I thought that as well, yet baddass didn't seem so sure. Which kinda put me off it as he seems to be the god of monitors, i think he lives in the monitor forum lmao.

Well all LCD's ghost, whether or not you notice it or not really depends on the person, I use a 2407WFP and yes it there is ghosting but I've got used it, infact I don't even notice it anymore, it's more of an issue when coming from an CRT screen really.

Its not the sort of ghosting your thinking of. You get black shadows when the cursour goes over green etc. It shows up real bad. but this was on the first revision i think, im not sure if its totaly cured yet.

Never heard of that, all i'm aware of is general ghosting caused by responce time and in some cases by dodgy use of overdrive/postprocessing.

If I use any of the default colour profiles on my 2407WFP I get an afterglow which is a bug in the firmware, so I use custom profile which fixes it.

Thing is, I know the GTS stock is going to be at a premium which will therefore push the price up. And I will definately want a card by Christmas so it's a difficult option. The extra memory does tempt me, but the "old" G80 architecture I guess slightly let's it down. Surely it is the better of the 2 cards though (GTX)?

The "old" G80 architecture doesn't seem to be much of a handicap in game benchmarks though, so if gaming frame rates at high resolutions and with AA/AF are what matters to you, then it's not a bad choice by any means.

If you're going to keep the card a couple of years, then it matters even less. I'm sure the extra 256mb of memory will come in handy somewhere down the line too.

To be honest, you can't go wrong with either a G92 GT/GTS or a G80 GTX I reckon, especially as (rightly or wrongly) they are all within £50 of each other.

will this GTS be better than my 8800GTX if i game at 1920 x 1600 on a 24" Monitor ??? and is this out monday ??

No I doubt it will be better at that resolution, stick with your GTX until the new one's come out next February - God I'm tempted with this GTX offer, as even though I'm currently on a 19 inch widescreen I know somewhere down the line I will be upgrading my monitor to a 22".

Ok cool roll on 9800GTX but i reckon its going to be more like 6 months before we see it.
