Who's getting G80?

Personally I will skip the G80 completely. I will look at next gen DX10 cards or maybe even the generaton after. By then Vista Service pack 1 will be released and Vista may actually work well. Drivers will likely be stable and mature too. Oh and there might even be some DX10 titles worth having ;)

Good luck to all of those who go Vista and DX10 at release, enjoy your beta testing.

I guess thats a no then?

lol :p

Not me at this point in time

1 pointless since vista not here yet

2 i have 7900gt 512mb and found no game it can not do at full rez even FSX

3 better of waiting till affter the first realse of the G80

4 Why even move/upgrade your card if there is no need to/or gain from it apart from fating nvidia/ati bank wast of money

lol just about... I am looking forward to DX10, But I'm going to wait until I feel Vista is solid and fast. I upgraded to XP early and imediately went back to Win 98se for another 12 months because XP sucked at release. imho it wasn't until service pack 1 that XP became fit for release. m$ have been using the public as beta testers of release product for as long as there has been an m$. I expect Vista to be no different.

I do wish you all well :)

Hi there

Well everybody because everyone will fall for the DX10 marketing.

However its still gonna spank anything else at DX9 titles too so everybody is gonna want them. :D

We shall have plenty of BFG overclocked product with lifetime warranty to offer out. :)

lifetime warranty is needed. have already heard that the G80 failure rate is quite high, well the chip yield rate, which is practically the same thing :D :p

You're all liars, you're all gonna buy it.

Everyone says they won't and then they always do, then they say how great it is. Then they switch over to ATI and say the total opposite...

(Puts crystal ball on floor and laughs)
:p ;)

ATI again....

with nothing to offer but a drop in price...

just like amd now lol

G80 will be expensive but after all ,

state of the art always is....

unless you take a conroe 6300 that can destroy amd in a wake!

Shame all gfx cards were not built this way!

Yes, planning on the 8800GT unless it's a silly price (>£340).

As already mentioned, it'll be a very fast DX9 card so who cares if Vista/DX10 gets delayed.

Snap

Its just like getting a next gen card....

Thats it.

It just happens to have DX 10 features

Will get one most likely. I always try and skip a generation (currently on a 6800) and then look for the new card to last 18 months to 2 years.

To miss a generation of card would mean you buying a 79xx series. I'l wait for the second phase of DX10 cards i think, hopefully any issues should have been ironed out by then.

If amd or intel makes new chipset I'll upgrade the videocard, I hate this things, there is always a bottleneck, even in pci express, also this processor like the pentium D and the dual core are vista capable also their chipset, but they are not native, so mean you will have to wait a minute for start up and all the crap like XP, is supposed the native hardware to make computers faster on start up and faster on 3D applications, so with a proper chipset and processor (Vista Native) I'll get one.

Hopefully ocuk will be having a lot of EVGA cards to go around.

Hi there

There won't be much of any cards I am afraid on launch, allocation will be very tight. I'd imagine possible as much as 200 units from NVIDIA for the whole of UK and its unlikely any of those will be EVGA or very little.

You have been doing this too long. I can guarantee the allocation will be 100 fold a week to 10 days from release. Build up pre orders, money in the bank.. good work, your job is done here, now off to the CPU section :p
