Who's Going To Le Mans Then?

Turns out my friend is going down with her dad. They are going on an Aston Martin invite. That will include a pit pass, being allowed to drive a round the track and none of this staying in a tent.

He drives a DB9 and also this friday he got a new car to replace his BMW 645...mostly being an M6 after just over a month on the waiting list. Good when you no people high up hey...

Sorry to pull this back but I asked the misses if I could go with a mate and she asked if she could come instead

Where do I go to get the tickets?

Where does the ferry land and how long is it to the track once in France?

Is there a website that explains all the ins and outs etc....

Got a lot of questions so could do with an idiots guide tbh.

Ta :)

Edd, no worries. Depending how fuel efficient or comfortable your car is you can either take a short crossing from Dover and take the brand new high-speed road straight down to Lemans via Rouen (4-5 hrs fast drive) or you can take a longer ferry from Portsmouth and take a shorter drive, 1-2 hrs.

You can get tickets on the gate and there will be camping available on one of the sites in the circuit. Most of the B&B's etc will be full so camping is the order of the day or sleep in the car. It's best to get on the website really and learn a bit more about it. Make sure you get in touch with some of us when you're there so you've got someone to have a beer with and take you round and see the sights.

If you do go I guarantee you'll be hooked for life, it's just one of those things you have to go back to!

So if we camp within the circuit, is it just a case of find a spot and dump your tent? If it rains does it become Glastonbury but with racing cars? I don't want to get stuck in the mud :)

I'll be taking my Impreza but which isn't tooooo bad on fuel with a light right foot.

If the misses is coming I don't think she'll be up for kipping in the car :) Have a mate who works on the boats up here (Fishguard) who might be able to wangle us on a boat for much cheapness.

Yep, I'm going with my brother in his Elise, and a bunch of guys from work in a Westfield, a VX220 Turbo and the most exotic of all, my boss is taking his Toyota Lucida (unless I can persuade him to take his classic 911 Porka which has sat in his garage for the last 2 years).

Still, gives us somewhere to put our stuff in and a refuge if the weather turns bad!

Wehey! Not long left to go now...

I'd better get my jet bike finished if I'm going to upset everyone in the campsite :D

'sounds good. my mate is getting the tickets in the next 2 weeks. Also he
knows some dutch guys that always come fully loaded up with a generator
and tv so we can watch world cup.

dont take any food with you. theirs a supermarket in le man near the
track and the beer and whisky is much cheaper over there. Dont bring
anything expensive cos you'll lose it or it will get knicked.

we'll be over their from wednesday (unless i get arrested on the drive
over their). Gonna cover the pimp wagon in england flags. I will scope
it out but im told french gipos get on site and ransack cars and tents
if you leave anything in them.'

I'm going over with some of the lads from SXOC. We have a generator and fridge being sorted for it

Mainly 200sx's going, not sure about any other cars. I'm going passenger in a 330bhp 350 ft / lb S14.

Can't wait, praying for some good weather. This'll be my first time over there.
