I'm actually getting fed up with these threads - bloody kids whingeing because they have to work Christmas eve or have to go to work on 2nd January.
For Christ's sake, get a grip. Some of us work in jobs which are 365 days a year - mostly jobs which contribute to your comfort, health and safety. Power stations, hospitals, fire stations, police stations, oil rigs, oil refineries, ISPs etc. etc. all have to operate 365 days a year and thousands of poor sods have to staff these places so that all of the rest of you can have your lights, PCs, cars etc all of the time. We'd be in a right state if all of these people decided to have Christmas and new year off as well - the country would grind to a halt.
Try to be a little less self centred and spare a thought for those of us who have no choice but to work at this time of year.
I'm not looking for sympathy, I knew what was involved in the job when I took it on. I haven't spent Christmas or new year with my family for the last 3 years because of my job but I don't start threads on here bemoaning the fact, I just get on with it.
/Rant over, carry on folks
