Who's moved out of their parents house?

i'm still living at home, but once i graduate from university I imagine i'll be staying in london so I'll probably have offically moved out at that point.

that and my parents are making noises about retiring and moving abroad, so i'd be homeless anyway.

I like living with my parents and it does have its benefits, but the independence I have at university is great.

20 here and have a full time job but am still living at home. As soon as I get a bit of money saved and am earning a bit more I will move out. I really cannot wait, but as said living at home is nice, but then is having %100 freedom.

I moved back in :). I am enjoying it too, I work pretty long hours and I just find it more relaxing and easy to live at home. Also I am trying to save as much money as possible for the next two/three years because job security might be a problem then for me.

It is just too convenient and easy for me to live at home :P

Moved out at 18, spent quite a few years in different jobs around the country and now at 33 have my own house in the middle of a lovely forest and thoroughly enjoy my driving job.

:)

It is alright for your older people. My mum and dad bought this house for around £150k and it is now worth at least £250k. If I was the save and get a mortgate I couldn't get anything decent or slightly as good as this house for under £100 - £150.

This was about 10 years ago. But this is more than inflation!

i moved out at 20 with no position in a career, however i had a job. i never went to uni.

managed fine :]

I'm 16 and still living at home. I hope to get a flat in town when I've left school/ done my GCSE's/ Got a well payed job.

Shouldn't be too long now. :)

23 and still living at home, as previously said its just so convenient and has its perks, but also a few downsides. saving for a house deposit amongst other things, not sure how long that will take but think i will need a fair wedge due to current property prices!

I'm nearly 22 and graduated last year. I've got a career in the pipeline, I'm playing the waiting game at the moment. Waiting to go and do the selection for it later this year ;). Until then I'm living at home because I'm only earning about £750 a month. Nowhere near enough to support myself if I lived in my own flat/house.

Its a bit depressing because I don't have enough room to swing a cat around but I have a goal in sight and that is keeping me going.

It is a lot harder to get on ther property ladder nowadays. No wonder the average age for leaving home 67..or summit!

I'm currently at Uni (lived in halls first year, then private rented accomodation with mates my 2nd and 3rd year).

I have no choice but to not return home as I have a job sorted in London and my parents live in the East Midlands - that's not really feasible for a daily commute!!

I could quite easilly hang around at home for another couple of years if I had to, I get on really wll with my parents and geuinely have just as much independance at home as at Uni. I'm also still very close to my circle of friends back from 6th form 4 years ago, many of home still live in the area so I still have quite strong ties to "back home".

However, the real life beckons and I have no problem with that either :)

I start work in October, so will be moving into rented accomodation in/near London at the end of the summer - I'll be 21 at the time.

im still at home and 21 i cant afford to move out yet but the gf has just moved into her own flat shes paying just over £500 for a flat a month! it dont get much cheaper than that tbh :s

Almost 18 and i'll be heading to university (hopefully!) in Canada, in the fall. After I graduate my parents will either be in Moscow or the middle of no where in canada (depending when my dad retires) so either way I cannot go back to living with my parents.

I was thinking the same thing when I left uni... could I really survive being back with the parents? If I was working in London and then coming back no. However in my current job i'm based in Kidderminster. I've just managed to wrangle a nice house & allowance out of the company while I work there, score

So essentially I have kinda moved out now, but I may be back when my time on the project comes to an end.

I moved out at 17 as I was going to uni, had I gone to uni in Greece I would still be living at my mum's, I don't see a reason why not to. First of all there are no costs, it's not like your mum is going to ask you for rent (we are not as cheap as you Brits are ;)) you get quality food, no need to buy a car as you can always drive hers, etc. etc.

I guess us old farts should stay away from threads like this, huh?

I moved out of my parent's house in 1986 and have never looked back.

Of course, it would be kinda hard to move back in with them now without commiting suicide......
