Who's ready for some more bloody carnage in Gears of War 2?

Gears problem this time around may well be R2. iirc R2 is being released the week before Gears 2, so it could get very interesting with the two systems big hitters going head to head, and R2 putting such a massive focus on the online.

Not trying to turn this into a fanboy war btw.

CoD5 will be very poor compared to CoD4 imo. It's made by the CoD3 team and not the CoD4 team.

Wont make a difference, it's still using the COD4 engine. All anyone really wants is them to poke the SP up their behinds and give us some more MP maps. This is what COD5 will be, a few more perks and a few more guns. Instead of a 800 point add on it's a £30-40 rip off to get that.

The SP may well suck, but the multiplayer won't. Besides people are too hung up on the past performance of treyarch. Doesn't mean this one will suck. EA improved fifa ;) i', sure they can do the same.

It's not like COD4 SP was massively superior to COD3 anyway. The game played the same and had the same BS trigger points. It just looked prettier.

Gears looks great I would have liked more players than 5v5 though.
 
CoD4 is overrated as **** anyway, especially the console versions, I mean if they added any more auto aim you may as well be a spectator!

CoD2 was probably the best, on PC at least it was much less casual and less focused on spraying. Well that's what I thought anyway, the few automatic weapons recoiled like whores.

I hope you're right, but I almost guarantee they will be changing the MP to suite their own style.

Anyway, back to GoW2 :)

Yep thats been changed from what I've read. No longer will a shotgun beat a lancer from range. It was ridiculous tbh someone with a shot gun could run at you while you poured fire into him and then he would shoot you once and you would explode.

I hated the shotguns and so suffered. I used to like watching Gord play after I'd died. He was a machine with the torque bow.

There was also no point in the second machine gun you could pick up, hopefully the weapon balance is the first thing they sorted out.
 
The Lancer is mean't to be more balanced now according to their interviews/previews of the game so far. Shotgun is meant to be more or less the same, but with the other weapons seeing different balance changes to even up the playing field.

The Lancer is supposed to pack a more powerful shot and it has a special stopping power to stop shotgun whores charging at you. How it works is that the more bullets you put into somebody the slower they will get effectively stopping them in their tracks and preventing them from charging at you in a straight line.

I think I also read a few months ago that they were going to try and help the lag problem by off loading the voice chat onto a second host to free up some bandwidth for the primary host although I cannot remember where I read it =/

So if you're host power sniping with the shotgun is still the best tactic :p
 
Who was the one who kept going mental when he died and leaving was it Wydro or Windle, sure it began with a W, Would end up blaming Miss K for host lag :D
 
I was the one who disliked krono and alrik being on the same team and severely disliked dredd360. The best games were always when miss k was the host and I was on her team tbh, funny lady :p

Yeah It was in a gears video I remember the same. An interview with the lead designer.

I dream of the day these games are more playable and the lag advantage is gone. When the best players are great because they are the best not some predetermined host advantage.

I love GOW, had some many enjoyable nights playing it. Annoying randoms is awesome fun, asking Canadians where aboots Canada is in America is just so funny, telling some stupid Yank I was German, while putting on the most English accent I could and him believing him was great laugh, some Yank telling us that England has crap health care because we all have bad teeth :D

GOW2 will be bought on release day.

I played religiously every night with Krono, Alrik, Miss K, Sarahbtsn (formerly GandyCane), dannyjo, Gimpy, Sid, gord Squinoogle, da_mic, cheets and others who I have forget there name and can never remember you playing at all!!
