Who's the go-to for PSU's these days?

Helly are a Chinese OEM that make Seasonic's cheaper psu's. Seasonic has used other OEM's for their cheaper models for years.

Seasonic are over hyped on this and other forums and they have sold quite a few poor psu's over the years. A decent CWT, Great Wall, even a modern FSP platform is easily as good as and many are even better than Seasonic. Brand loyalty is foolish, they don't think anything of you for sticking with one brand for years. Shop around for the best price and check reviews then choose a psu based on your findings. Don't get caught up in the great efficiency con either. Once you go over Gold rated you are paying a premium and sometimes it can be twice the price or more of a good quality gold rated psu. You will never get that money back in electricity savings so you may as well stick to gold rated.

Always gone Seasonic, absolute bangers they are. Never had a problem in any of my projects or any customer pcs I've built.

I've also had 3 or 4 high end Corsair ax1200i which haven't caused me any issues, but I have heard plenty of times the cheaper Corsair stuff can be very hit or miss.

I've bought many high end Seasonic and Corsair over the years but sadly have had a run of three Seasonic Prime TX PSU (1000, 1300 models) fail very quickly.

The Seasonic PSUs were really expensive and its made me think I shouldn't pay over the odds for their PSUs and I am currently am using more Corsair PSUs (such as HX1500i) which are less than two thirds the cost and I've yet to have one fail (famous last words!)
