Yeah but there's a difference, Sheen is an actor and so there's this whole ambiguity as to whether or not it's all an act (especially seeing as he passed a urine test after giving an interview saying he was 'banging 7g rocks'). Even if that's rubbish and it turns out he gets admitted to a clinic the fact that no one knows what's really going on when you watch him and his general charisma make it impossible not to get sucked in.

edit: and look at the above, I reckon he knows exactly what's going on :D

accidentally killed by his doctor on the eve of the comeback tour that millions where waiting for ?

this isnt even remotley similar , sheen is just a man with a big ego who is doing what he wants to do and not caring what people think about it

good on him for it imo... too many 'stars' live fake lives or live how the public and press want them to live.

i love that he passed that drugs test as a reply to being accused of being an 'addict'.

He's certainly cares otherwise he wouldn't be shouting about it from the roof tops by signing up to Twitter, uStream and giving interviews to big networks left, right and centre.

All he has done is burn bridges and label himself as a massive liability. Even his lawyers have asked him to refrain from giving interviews as they clearly know he's damaging his own reputation.

Yes, forums and news networks are all talking about this but give it a few weeks, maybe a month, and everyone will move on to other topics of discussion. And Charlie Sheen will become another jobless unemployable actor with an ego too big for Hollywood.
 
If this really is some kind of publicity stunt for a documentary or a movie, then this really is bigger than anything anyone has done before, and certainly makes Joaquin Phoenix's attempt pale in comparison.
 
He's defiantly ruled himself out of working for another TV Network or Film Studio anytime soon. With WB distancing themselves from him, nobody else is going to want to take a risk on a drugged up crazy man.

His use of social networking and the publicity craze he is causing means he won't be out of work in terms of interviews and publicity... but at the sametime how long will people put up with his antics before they get bored?

He's probably on a big downward spiral.
 
This is some insane pre-prepared speech this time. He looks a bit less insane, but the content is just the same. I liked the phrase 'napalm poet'.

I think it's brilliant - I want to know what happens next, and so do many others - How else has he got 2 million Twitter subscribers in the last month.

He may have lost his job, but this is just the beginning :p
