Why 197bhp?

Hmmm, anyone can join the 200 plus club as long as they have 200bhp.

Interesting, would I be welcomed if I turned up with a Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel automatic then? ;)

Is it me? Has anyone tried to use that website in Mozilla Firefox?
Last time I went to that website (doesnt look to have been updated in a while) I'm not sure that Firefox was even to the Firebird stage which was when mozilla varients were becoming more widespread.

I would have thought they would have upped the anti to at least 250bhp these days. If only to keep all the rif raf hot hatches out ;)

in germany they do tax brackets based on engine output

thats why in europe the the s14 syliva is 197bhp but 220ish to the rest of the world

thats why there are a lotta cars with 197bhp

i thought everyone knew that

Right i got a few questions....

Are you guys saying that in this country your car is classed as a performance vehicle when it hits 197bhp becuase thats exactly what my car puts out. Now im gonna be looking for insurance soon and Im thinking of not telling them about the unichip it has because the way i see is how am i to know its chipped if i bought the car second hand. Do unichips put a major increase on premiums as i assume they do and the premium will already be high mentioning the mods in the sig.

And the final question is how cn i get the last 3 horses :D

Sorry if i sort of hi jacked this thread

Some mods will made the premium go up a bit but if you get on a modified insurance scheme then it isnt loaded as much. Companies like Sky Insurance, A-Plan, Adrian Flux, Greenlight etc will insure modified cars without send the price through the roof. Ive got a shed load of mods on my car and the price is quite reasonable.

It also says

(Flywheel figures are acceptable. We also accept cars with over 200bhp/tonne)

So less than 200BHP at the wheels will get you into the club. :)

I always thought it was a 200+mph club!

I'm very very un-impressed by them now! Ruuubbish!

I get people all the time asking me how i manage 200mph in my Prelude due to my 200+ Club window stickers... usually a good laugh.
