Why all the hate for PS3?

I don't hate the PS3, I just laugh at it because of how much of an epic failure it is. Maybe it has sold well but that doesn't change the fact that it's overpriced, has barely any decent games, lost most of it's decent exclusives and has useless gimmicky features like PSP integration and sixaxis. Also the controller is horrible and the console itself looks like crap. And all the boasting from Sony pre-release about it having 1080p and so it's better than Xbox and now it only has a few actual proper 1080p games. Oh and all the boasting about it's 'supreme' power and fanboys going on about how it will have better graphics than the 360, when 99% of games look better on the 360. Epic failure. And all the delays like GT5 not coming until 2010. DOUBLE EPIC FAIL.

*after searching thoroughly through the BS in this post, I finally arrived at a place called Fail.

I totally agree.

*Goes to light PS3 on fire since its a DOUBLE EPIC FAIL of a system.*

I like the idea of the integrated PSP features etc, and hope MS do something in the future with any handheld devices it launches...

Had a PS3 as well as my 360.

As a games machine it comes no where close (online service and controller)

The REQUIREMENT of installing games to the HD was the nail in the coffin for me.

Time to be objective.
First of all Please explain in more detail how its an Epic failure? Ok Reason 1
its overpriced
, compared to what? The cheapest BD player i think is RRP £199, but that is profile 1, poor upscaling no way to upgrade the firmware and hdmi 1.2. So for £100 you get a profile 2.0 Bd player with superior upscaling, profile firmware updates when required and hdmi 1.3, and an HD games console with built in wifi, web browsing and free online gaming. Reason 2
barely any decent games
How are you judging this ? Is a Decent game only a AAA game? If so it has 5 AAA games acording to metacritic, and the highest rated exclusive game this year MGS4, and 53 other games rated AA, pretty sure thats enough "decent" games to be getting on with. Reason 3
lost most of it's decent exclusives
Cant argue with this its lost more third party exclusives than the 360, but then it had more to lose in the first place. What Sony has done, which i think is far safer is to expand its first party exclusives, by purchasing devs teams or supporting one to make them very Sony friendly. Microsoft throwing money at third parties to make games multiplatform or for a timed exclusive seem a waste of money to me as games get more expensive they are going to have to keep throwing more money at the same devs to keep it that way as the user base of the PS3 expands and make it far more attractive to make it multiplat. Its surely better to have your own dev teams then to rely on a third party? Next

, this is also specfic to the user many people prefer the Dual shock 3 (as i do) to the 360 controller, the look of the console again each to their own, and the remote play and PSP functions are useful if you have a PSP and chillin out playing PS1 and some PSN games in bed is pretty cool, the new bionic commando game for PS3 uses remote play which will be great. Next up

The 360 didnt have 1080P at launch and was a feature added in an update close to the PS3 launch if im correct so the statement was true when mentioned, also im sure im correct that the 360 does not output true 1080P just upscaled to it rather than the PS3 "true" 1080P?
Another one
Oh and all the boasting about it's 'supreme' power and fanboys going on about how it will have better graphics than the 360, when 99% of games look better on the 360
, Using multiplatform games to judge a consoles power is silly as it always a compromise for both platforms, but from exclusive games I would say the PS3 has the edge with Uncharted and MGS4 over gears, Gears 2 looks better than gears 1, I think its close between KZ2 and GOW2 but as both aren't out yet or finished its hard to judge. Finally
And all the delays like GT5 not coming until 2010. DOUBLE EPIC FAIL.
Could say the same with Alan Wake and Huxley, but i will just give you the quote for GT5 from IGN " that might be 2009, or it might be 2010", also is a double fail a failed failure so it negates itself so its no longer a fail? :D
Take this in the way i mean it to be, ie not having ago or saying your'e wrong but another take on what you have written.:)

No. The 360 can and does output true 1080p. Virtua Tennis is 1080p for example. Sony were boasting about having 1080p games so it would be better than the 360's 720p, but in the end there's only been a select few actual 1080p games on the PS3, which is no different from the 360. Also the PS3 can only upscale certain games to 1080p, whereas the 360 can upscale any game to 1080p. But anyway, that's not the point. The point is Sony were boasting about something which in the end the console didn't have. Most of it's games are 720p or lower just like the 360.

Yet everything else you were wrong about so your post was still a big vat of fail.
