Why am I having to pump my bike tyres weekly?

I do, on average, 200 miles a week. I don't experience a PSI drop of 10 or more, and don't need to pump my tyres weekly.

Depends on the tubes, tyres, and pressure. I pump my skinny road bike tyres to 120 psi and in a week or two they're down to 60-70. Nothing you can do about it.

I ride a road bike to work, slightly less mileage than platypus but nonetheless on the worst roads ever known to man (West London to City) on 700x23.

I don't experience large PSI swings in a week unless I have a slow puncture, and always check my pressure weekly, or more if I suspect if something is up. Takes a couple of weeks to see anything near 10psi

Edit: I use GP 4 Seasons tyres, continental inner tubes and RS21 wheels

I used to get slow leaks and punctures all the time with my old tyres (around 2 a month on average). I tried slime and it saved a few punctures but didn't really help a great deal overall

I switched to Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres 9 months ago and haven't had a puncture since (and saved a fortune on all the inner tubes and slime I could have been buying, and hours of my time changing tubes)

I put 110-120psi in my road tyres and they've usually dropped to ~80psi a week later. Doesn't matter what tyres I use, they've always done it. You guys who don't lose any pressure, what brand/model tubes are you using?

Same here really. I'm using some generic inners (that came with my bike from PX) and gatorskin tyres.

I'm doing way less than 200 miles per week too. Past few weeks it has been between 80 and 140.

if your bike sits without use it looses more air from what I've experianced.. :) i probably lose 20-30psi/month no more than that and I'm running halfords 3.99 tubes

For a very long time now I've used Michelin Pro n's Service Course and Vittoria inner tubes.

Similar experience to you, ill pump mine up twice a week.

Using Conti Tubes.

Due to a bad back I've not been out on my bike since October but I've been using it on the turbo trainer. Recently I've been having to pump my front tyre up daily (which isn't even used), I'm assuming it must be a faulty valve. Tubes are the ones that came with my Canyon which due to my back hasn't seen much tarmac at all.
