Ok, so I have encountered a problem.

I want to post some compression fittings to the other end of the country, now I don't know how I would go about posting them, I don't really want to have to put them into a box as this would not only cost but it'd be a PITA, so I'm thinking an envelope. Would you guys trust an envelope, as personally, I feel they may break free.

Would you guys say a Padded Envelope? How much would one of these set me back?

What sort of compression fittings?

If they're copper fittings for household piping then I would suggest a box as they are pretty heavy (or even that they're not worth posting - the cost would likely be close to buying them ne).

If for something like computer water cooling, I'd still suggest a box - boxes don't cost much more to post than jiffy bags, especially if you can get one just about the right size, but they are also normally stronger than jiffy bags and less likely to get ripped in the post/by the sorting machines, but a jiffy bag would probably be ok.

It's surprising how many of the jiffy bags you get DVD's posted in are still in nearly new condition if you're careful opening theml (they just need a new address label and some double sided tape).
My family laugh at the little stack of carefully flattened boxes and jiffy bags in my cupboard - usually right up until I get a message at 8pm in the evening saying "I need a jiffy bag/box to send something in the morning..." (and have served me well with RMA's for things like video cards and hard drives in the past - it's very handy having a couple of HDD shipping boxes hanging around).

IIRC the post office tend to charge a bit more for jiffy bags, whilst the likes of Wilko and pound shops tend to sell them at something like 5 for a pound.
 
They are EK 7/16" compression fittings for PC watercooling :p

He is enquiring about sending them to me haha.

Not sure if this is the right way or place to do so though *ahem* Hyburnate... :rolleyes:
 
I keep all of my boxes OcUK send me now incase of RMA's now I know how expensive boxes are xD

I now know why you reuse the boxes you get things delivered to you in.

Edit: I'm in my town center soon, so I'll nip into Wilko then :D

Aye, it's shocking how much postal boxes are (at least if you get them on the highstreet from somewhere like the Post office), I started saving some after it cost me something like £5-7 nearly a decade ago to get one for some LE DVD's I had sold (they were in their own card case so needed a box big enough to have good padding to prevent damage to the card outers).
