Why are all Dwarfs Scottish?

In games, films ect they are always Scottish, has anyone ever met a cockney dwarf or even welsh one? surly they exist? :confused:

My mind is at a loss.........

I think it's something to do with the countryside... Hills, they live under Hills!!

It's a Hollywood'ism. Same reason why English dudes were the badguys for years.

Also why in early Hollywood movies of the past, black people would randomly break out in dance for no apparent reason.

Ogryn in Dragon Age sounds distinctly American or Canadian, but I do accept that mostly they're portrayed as Scottish.

Though I think they're loosely based on the Picts who were extremely diminutive, but nonetheless feared warriors from ancient Celtic Scotland.

So that might explain some of it.

There was 2 at my school & both were English, Used to be great taking them Bowling.
