What resolution are you running? Is it set to widescreen? It could be the fact that it's 16:10, could you post a picture of it by any chance?

PGR3 I found it a bit of a sod for resolutions, don't see why they have not patched it.

ok but does it in sonic the hedgchog to on the rader its oval p.s dont ask its me better half game :p .

ok will post pics.

p.p.s i have tryed it at nearly all resses and still not much better.

None of the resolutions that the Xbox 360 uses are 16:10 (they're all 4:3 or 16:9 as far as I'm aware), so if your monitor is a 16:10 monitor at its native res (1440x900) then it's going to stretch the image to fit the screen.

I'm pretty sure that the only way to remedy this would be to use a monitor with 1:1 pixel mapping, or to use an entirely different TV/monitor that is 4:3 or 16:9 at its native resolution.

1280x768 is the closest 360 resolution to a 16:10 ratio from a quick check, though it's still not a 16:10 ratio, it's the best you can do to avoid it, however as all of the widescreen resolutions are ideally designed for LCD HDTVs rather than PC TFTs at the end of the day.

They are only very subtle, and there really isn't much you can do about it really. It'll be more noticable in racing games as there are obviously more circles and basic geometric shapes that will look a little off.

As I said above, the widescreen resolutions are all designed ideally for widescreen HDTVs which are 16:9.

ok daveyd you are correct m8 cus i did run it at 1280x768 and there was less of it allso there wasent as much jaggy edges would that be the case or just me eyes?.

cheers for the help ;)

Just use 1280x768, you'll just have to accept that you will always get a slightly oval circle on the monitor. One solution is, if the monitor has the setting, to try manually squashing the image on the monitor, which would leave you with black borders top and bottom, but would probably eliminate the shape problem. Not sure if it can be done on your monitor however.

I had the same issue when running the game through a 4:3 15 TFT TV - is just didn't display right via VGA.

The cars were too narrow.

Also the same with the old XBOX games such as GTA sa only cure was to run them at 640 res and it look blocky.

HDTV it's spot on.

It makes the cars look silly in racing games IMO. They are all too tall.

Does your monitor have a setting for pixel mapping? It looks like your monitor is just stretching the image to fit the screen best way it can.

My 20" (1680x1050) Philips monitor has 3 settings:
Native (pixel mapped)
Fill with Aspect
Full Screen

I run my 360 at 1360x768 and find that 'fill with aspect' works very well. Also adjust the size/position helps too. For a true image you would need pixel mapping.
