Why are headphones so much more expensive here than in the US?

Im buying headphones soon and ive been on headfi.org and researching and headphones here are so much more expensive...if a headphone is $80 its £80 here! does anyone know any places i can buy IEM (in ear muffs) for more reasonable prices?

yeah but $80 headphones shouldnt equal £80 which is $152! we pay twice as much for headphones

true but loads of people in america are selling brand new e4c's for $100-150
