Why are headphones so much more expensive here than in the US?

Im buying headphones soon and ive been on headfi.org and researching and headphones here are so much more expensive...if a headphone is $80 its £80 here! does anyone know any places i can buy IEM (in ear muffs) for more reasonable prices?

Everything costs more here, headphones are no exception.

Import them is about the only way to go. Be aware that you'll pay vat/duty which averages out to about 20% of the total price you paid, but they should still work out cheaper.

Also, Grado won't ship outside the USA, and I think shure maybe have the same policy or at least they do for the e500.

try the sponsors sites on head-fi to find reputable shops.

lots of people on ebay sell headphones - hundreds of them a day by the looks of it. Prices actually become reasonable then (e4cs for £115 inc delivery)
